Title: ST1100 Handguards
Post by: Garry_Coates on May 27, 2025, 05:58:34 PM
I have used BBZ fabric handguards on the ST1100 for a few winters but found them a bit problematic with movement and partial blocking of the mirrors. They are a much better fit on my BMW F900GSA. Has anybody tried anything else with the ST1100? For example Vstrom 1000 or 650 handguards?

I use bark buster muffs on my ST1300. They block the mirrors too but I just put an extra set of mirrors on the handlebars. Problem solved. They were off my ttr250 so I assume a yamaha part will eventually upset the Honda gods and my bike will throw a rod or something 🤣

Thanks for the reply. The BB fabric guard was overkill for what I need. With the OEM mirror covers, only my outside 2 fingers get cold. I have heated glove inners with cabling for really long trips below 5c. With a plethora 1 and 2 mounting point hand guards on Aliexpress I am looking to find something that will be permanent all year round. Just interested in what others have done.

Well I am trying some cheap guards from aliexpress. I had to trim the screens to get them working with the fairing. Based on this and other measurements I would be surprised if vstrom guards would work with the ST1100. In single digit weather they seem to be having an effect.
