Title: Police bike rear seat.
Post by: Rusty66 on June 09, 2025, 05:43:03 PM
Hey everyone. Another question regarding my ex police ST1300 2011. I bought a rear seat for it off evilbay, unfortunately it doesn’t fit. Do the police bikes require a different pillion seat? There is a big metal panel underneath the cowl which I removed, but the seat still didn’t come close. The seller def says it came off an ST. Any info from you guys?
Cheers
Rusty

Might be worthwhile calling David Hayes, contact details on this link - https://www.facebook.com/www.hayesmc.com.au (https://www.facebook.com/www.hayesmc.com.au)

David worked on Poilce ST1300s in the UK, has one of his own now in his workshop, I think he knows his way around them.  I trust him with mine.

The 1100 has either the solo seat or a dual seat  I havent heard of a separate seat . The seat securing lock is moved to another position to fit the dual seat.   In the solo version, the lock is fitted to the equipment rack

Thanks mate. Screw that. I think I’ll just leave it single seater. What a shamozzle. Poor design.
The other Rusty.

Not really a poor design, its very easy to convert from a police solo, to a dual seat if you have one.

Its the 1300 thats a bad design, as the whole rear frame is different so requires an expensive mod.

The seat you have will be the correct one but you need
Item 7 here
https://bluecitymotorcycles.com.au/oem/honda/search-parts?brand=honda&type=MB&year=2004&model=2475&assembly=19587
to replace item 11 here
https://bluecitymotorcycles.com.au/oem/honda/search-parts?brand=honda&type=MB&year=2006&model=5108&assembly=73478&accessory=&adrAssembly=
and then you need items 6,7,12, 23 and 30 from here
https://bluecitymotorcycles.com.au/oem/honda/search-parts?brand=honda&type=MB&year=2004&model=2475&assembly=19571&accessory=&adrAssembly=
Scroll down on each link.
I think the main difference between item 7 and 11 are two brackets that need to be removed from item 11 you can see them either side of the number 45 in the diagram
