A bit of a confused video. Talks a lot about the ST1300 weave issue whilst spending the entire video showing and riding the 1100.

Yes not long watched that, clearly didn’t have a 1300 for show and tell, just proof the 1100 is the one and only 😜😜
-
Yeah, I watched that earlier and did a bit of head scratching...
Yes, he did say it was the ST gen 2 but didn't say the 1300 went on for another 10 years or so without seemingly suffering from the death wobbles.
Instead he just shit canned the engine basically and mentioned the motor was put into the short lived CTX1300 which, he failed to mention, came many years later after the ST1300 was eventually discontinued.
Very disappointing review really, certainly not up to FortNine's normal standard, I felt...

Yes it was a very different episode, it is an ever reliable scoot the V4, I just looked at the good and thought hey it’s only at 175 for wobbles rest is prime

Agreed. It appeared thrown together as far as facts and figures went, and to the people that know nothing about the bike, they would be left thinking it's all about the ST1100 and not realise the "gen 2" they referenced was a different bike.

My understanding of the "PAN WEAVE", is that it mainly affected the UK Police bikes due to the comms / electronics load out and high center of gravity... Of course, once word got out to the US, every one suffered from death wobble symptoms, especially when riding close to a semi just prior to overtaking. It had nothing to do with the dirty air, or trying to fight the natural self centering going on..
I have had my 1100 with a heavily loaded top box up to 20KPH (in controlled conditions of course) on a standard rough bit of road.. The bike was steady as a rock..

OOps...
A slight error there.. It was slightly faster at 40KPH 205KPH.. The road under me disappeared quickly after crossing a bridge..

It's alleged that I rode my ST1300 at 200km/h, without the top box, but with panniers. It was solid as a rock and felt no different to 100km/h, except that the stobie poles went past a bit quicker. The Beemer never felt as stable at higher speeds.

This what happens when you get your motorcycle into top gear. Don't reckon it was on the ST1300 though, unless it was in a free fall after falling outta a cargo hold.

Well, there was this one time.... :rofl
