Title: 2027 MotoGP moving from Philip Island to Adelaide Street Circuit
Post by: Shillas on February 19, 2026, 11:41:16 AM

Adelaide may have lost the Formula 1 to Victoria some decades ago.

There's always been the threat to take it back, but looks like SA is taking the bikes instead.

Revenge is a dish best served cold?   :rofl

With the rules getting tighter as reguards the track size and run off areas as the bikes get faster, I don't see that a concrete channel through the city as being a viable track. They built 'the Bend' as being a track for the future and now they want to put it back on a bumpy street circut. I cannot see 345Km/h bikes on that layout being a success.

Let's hope this F1 mob doesn't stuff MotoGP like they have with F1...

I read or heard somewhere that they're wanting to bring younger people back into following the sport and they think a city track is a good way to improve exposure.
Perhaps if the money grabbing idiots in charge hadn't put televising it to Foxtel/Kayo rather than the race alone on Channel 10 like it used to be then more people would be watching it and hence following it.
