Gday everyone,
I think my bike is a bit slow to warm up.
I always get on a bike, start it, and ride off. All vehicles really. Moderate to gentle until warm.
No sitting it on the driveway idling. Phil Irving reckoned that was how to do it, so that’s good enough for me.
So it takes about 25km at say 20 degrees ambient temperature to get to 3 bars.
Is this normal?
I can’t remember if it took this long before I changed the coolant.
I would think a liquid cooled bike should be warm at say 5 km?
Maybe the thermostat is knackered?
Thanks
Brad.

The 11 and 1300 dont get hot quickly especially when moving. Just get on and go, they love to run..

Thanks Brock!
Good to know!

I wait for the fast idle to drop, then go. It usually shows one bar at that point, and I have never really looked for when it gets to three.
I've had one with a knackered thermostat, and it didn't get above one bar in 300ks.

I wait for the fast idle to drop, then go.
I usually do the same, I fire it up then go put my helmet & gloves on. By then the fast idle has usually dropped off.... :thumbs

Thanks for the advice, men.
I’ll do that.

So, I started the bike, put on my jacket, gloves and helmet, rode a few blocks, 1 bar, had 2 bars just out of town, 3 bars about 10 kms out.
So, happy with that!
