G’day everyone
Asking for my mare.
He has an ST1100. We’re going around oz in July. He needs front and back.
I told him the standard thing, Road6, angel etc, must be GT.
He goes to the Honda shop in Wollongong and they tell him, no BT32 in GT.
How about this BT33 (non GT #&!*@&!!?) (I said we’ll be lucky to get to Katherine on that)
I say, Find another shop that knows the difference, FFS.
I believe the exact sizes are unavailable in some brands.
Can someone recommend a set of GT somethings please? Would it be Pireeli Angel, and Road 6.
We’re heading straight up to Katherine from Blayney, then around.
We really don’t want to be hunting tyres in Perth.
Thanks for your help everyone
(My 1300 is awesome!!)
Edit, and sizes please. Anyone know a shop in the Gong when he can experience joy?

My Michelin Road 6s have been fantastic on my 1300 - hard wearing etc.
Have done Adelaide Hills to Toowoomba & back and Adelaide Hills to Canberra & back, plus intrastate rides with no issues & still not up for replacement.
Standard manufacturers sizes, but increase the psi above the recommendation to around 45. (This may raise some debate - different experiences etc.)

You probably won't find any GTs, they also used to be known as 'A' carcas for hevier sport tourers. As for sizes depends if its ABS or not as front is a different size.
Honda ST1100 (1990–2001) Standard Sizes:Front: 110/80-18 (Non-ABS models)Front (ABS/CBS Models): 120/70-18 (Later 3-pot caliper models)Rear: 160/70-17
Just a case of ringing around to see whos got what. As for tyres in Perth, it might be a long way away but it is a major city, try Tyres 4 Bikes in Welshpool and order ahead if you know you'll need them.
In the interim, Motorcycle Tyre Warehouse advertise this pairs deal, not sure if they have stock -

Have a good run around the big paddock.

Tyres for Bikes is very good. The owner knows his stuff, and even has the correct Moly Paste on hand to grease the splines..
Prices are also very good.

I have Dunlop sports max on my 1100 they are fantastic

GT's haven't been available for the 1100 for a long time. And the last time I tried to buy tyres for my 1100 I found the sizes in standard form for multiple brands were harder to find as well.
