Title: Love my ST
Post by: sleepin on June 11, 2012, 08:51:30 PM
Hi fellow ST'ers.

I have a silver 2005 ST1300. I brought it about a year ago and havn't looked back.

Luckily, it was fitted with a radio (from the Goldwing range), Motorcycle Cruise - Cruise Control and a heated Corbin Seat. All accessories I wouldn't have paid for but love having them. So far I've done a trip through the NSW and VIC snowies and the Oxley Hwy NSW. I regularly do day trips up the Putty Road and down to Macquarie Pass and the Kangaroo Valley (NSW).

I've owned lots and lots of bikes before but I love this bike just a bit more than my 87 VFR750 years ago. My mate has a couple of bikes including a Kwaka 1300GTR which I have to admit handles better but is no way as comfortable as the ST. Also you've got to ride it up the top end of the range when your goin' for it. I can't see myself ever buying another bike now.

What I think is special about the ST is that you can round up most blokes on sportsbikes and when you stop they say, "Boy, the ST moves!!!!!" Gotta love that torque.

Thanks for having me on the forum.

Howdy sleepin.  Seems like you might be able to come to the ride to eat at Robertson on Sunday 24 June, as well within your day trip range.

Gotta love a bike that can play with the sports riders and doesn't require you to lay on the petrol tank (or stop to fill it every 150 km).

Glad you've found your true m/c home.

G'day sleepin - sounds like you are def living the dream there. We all KNOW what you mean about the prowess of this giant 'ferry' of a motorcycle - it surprises many people out there. Best thing is that when their    :butt's are sore - the ST can just keep on truckin in supreme comfort and fuel range!

Gosh! Now I sound as wide-eyed and excited as you!      :crazy

It's ALL good.

You live near some of the greatest motorcycling roads in the world too (Kangaroo Valley)     :thumb

Make sure you keep in contact with Saaz (our National Ride Co-ordinator) as he lives within strike range of that area too, and enjoys organising rides there.

Thanks for the intro.

Cheers, Diesel
