Just spent the weekend in Yorkshire with some friends from MY-MC.
Started quite badly Andi, Hound and myself set off for Pickering in Yorkshire about 90 miles but an accident somewhere ahead turned the motorway into a car park. After filtering for 30 mins roadworks made the lanes narrower and we came to a standstill it took 5 hour's to do the 90 mile.
Anyway set up tents some food and a few drinks and all was forgotten.
Saturday morning into the pub for a full english breakfast and off for a 100 mile run around Yorkshire with a few stops for coffee and icecream. :)
We stopped in Gothland which is where they filmed Heartbeat tv program not sure if it was shown in Australia? and a ride threw Denby forest which has a 30 mph speed limit. Back to the pub for a meal some more alcohol and talk over the days ride.
For some reason we were all up at 5 o'clock this morning drinking coffee and keeping our voice's down so we didn't wake the campsite. Another full english packed up and off home the return journey only took 90 mins. ::)

Thanks for uploading all those. Good to see the ST taking on the water.
What's the story with the old Cop car? Or are the UK Cops still using Hillman Minxes?
-
Wow! Fantastic shots Keith. A great set of STs too - we can tell they are set up for filtering with all the reflective gear on them - looks very nice!
Oh how we'd love to have a beer in a 300-500 year old building here - trouble is - there are none!

I believe the show Keith refers to is set in the 60s or 70s - thereby making that the "current" 'weapon of choice' for Mr Plod. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong pls).
Thanks again Keith - great to see you guys out n about.
Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Diesel

Yeah- Missus Biggles and I never missed a beat of "Heartbeat". We're Sixties kids, you know.
All tongue-in-cheek.
"Heartbeat! Why do you miss when my baby kisses me?" :runyay

The Cop car is actually Ford Anglia if I remember correctly having driven around in one may moons ago.

Nice trip. Shows how veratile these STs are, even go trail riding on them.
The car is a Ford Anglia 105E, made from 59 to 64 in Oz, pre runner of the Escort.

Keith, given that group it is a wonder you were able to get up in the morning, unless you lot are getting older and more responsible :) Paul must still think he is doing the police ride training in water obstacles, but a good idea for cleaning the bike :think1.

Thanks guys Heartbeat was a police show set in a rural village in the sixties and yes it is a Ford Anglia, i can remember my older brother had one forerunner to the Escort.
T shirts are in the pipeline Paul has something in mind he's looking for a acronym with arthiritis in it. ::)
As to being up early various reasons were given mine was simple full bladder. :wink1 Saaz we are very responsible riders and didn't overdo the alcohol honest.

I vaguely remember my dad owning a previous version of the Anglia with a soft top. I would have been about 5 or 6 yers old then so about 1960/1 when he had it.

It was a good weekend spent with some good people.
For information the ST11 is a great adventure bike, who needs a BMW or a Charlie Borman... :)
It was deeper than I thought.
