Since I tyoed this out for another frum, may as well put it here too.
Location of various numbers on the ST11:
VIN on left side of steering head
Engine serial number - stamped on the rear of the lower crankcase behind the oil pan
Frame serial number - right side of the steering head
Carb id - stamped on each carb body on the intake side
Colour label - sticker on frame cross member under the seat
If you don't have it, the Honda manual has all sorts of diagrams showing where labels, ground connections etc etc are on the bike. Link in the sticky above.

Thanks saaz

That's good Saaz. Do you have any information on year of manufacture?
My ST1100 code No. is ST1100PT. It is an ex police bike and when I went to the Honda dealer to buy some parts he told me that it was a 1996 model.
I was a little shocked as the rego papers say it is a 1998 model. Is there something on the bike that dates the time of manufacture like vehicles have? :-[

Yours is a 1996 model which should be ST1100PT on the colour label under your seat.
This link gives the year codes for the 1100 and if you select your year; you can access the part numbers after selecting the country option if needed.

The P tends to confuse things, as there is a P year. If the P is before another letter then the last letter is the year, the P designates police model..
