Title: How long do you warm up your ST for from cold start?
Post by: Sabie on July 26, 2012, 08:27:48 PM
I've always waited till the first bar lights up on the Temp the ST1300 before I move off.

What do other ST owners do from cold start?

As long as it  takes from start up to getting gloves etc on so maybe 1 or  2 minutes.

More of the same here http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=1761.25 (http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=1761.25)

As for the shed thingy (I don't have).......mines out front waiting to go all the time........just hop on and go and then return to parked space.

I fire it up, put the helmet and gloves on and and by then it has come off high idle. Ride moderately until until 3 bars come up on the temp guage. I like to warm all components up evenly before working it a bit harder, even warm the brakes with a few gentle applications before hitting the highway. It might all be psychological but if everything feels good then it gives peace of mind which is a great relaxant before a ride.
Happy riding
