Both Gavo and I have Ali-Lite trailers. The black looks good. I've noticed that the silver shows scratches easy.

Its actually black

Must be the metalic paint that looks like it matches the bike

Just out of curiosity whats it like to ride with a trailer on the back? How does it effect the dynamics of the bike?

Ya gotta take it easier for sure & pick your moments when overtaking but mostly it's ok when loaded right

If the trailer is loaded right and once you're under way the trailer is hardley noticable. If I need to overtake anything larger than a HR truck then down to 4th for the extra performance.

Sure the extra weight with/without pillion will effect performance like any car etc. Your cornering line will be somewhat more conservative as your in tour mode rather than sport mode. Fuel economy will suffer especially at speeds in excess of the 90-100kmh range.

Sorry John,

The white trailer I saw on the back of my back must have been in my imagination when you passed me on the way to the border..........lol

Some trailer firms will custom paint to your bikes colour.

:dred11 when i first rode with the trailer behind me i was a bit worried but i hardly even knew it was there :thumbs the first time i took the bike up to 140km to see what it was going to do & was suprised at how well it sat behind the bike. i found as well that you just had to adjust your riding to suit.on the trip away to the rally it was so good i nearly forgot it was there  :grin but you get pulled up when you clip roundabouts  :eek  i think maybe tyres will wear out quicker ?? cheers all.  :hatwave

Well it's not easy to miss!!  I havr thought of colour matching but in reverse.. major colour grey (to match the ST trim) and highlights in gold. I don't think that if I painted it all gold I could cope.. waaayyyy too much !!!!!
Title: Re: trailer trash
Post by: Sabie on September 22, 2012, 10:49:06 PM
Go black like your seat and trim
Title: Re: trailer trash
Post by: Bikebear on September 22, 2012, 11:03:40 PM
Trim is actually a dark grey, that's the colour I am thinking of. The nearest match I can find is a dark grey Toyota colour so if I paint it at least I will have a colour to go with.

Seen a mate chasing Sports Bike over Cunningham's Gap on his Blackbird with trailer behind in excess of well over ?????????? without a problem. I was behind him on my ST1100 with pillion and a trailer on but I was on the speed limit
