Title: For those that wear glasses
Post by: youngSTer on August 17, 2012, 09:33:53 AM
Have you ever had difficulty putting your glasses with a tight fitting Helmet?
Well rather than go and purchase the straight legged frames that are now available @ $300.00 you could try your local friendly spectacle shop and get the legs on your current frames straightened, providing that your current ones have spring loaded legs.
Lens Pro did mine for free.

For sunnies, I buy $13 safety glasses from Bunnngs and rip the extendable ams off, leaving about 1 inch on them ... very easy to push in and the snug fitting helmet holds them in no problems, even with the visor up.

If you need prescription glasses do yourself a favour and check out Zenni Optical.
Even though i've got private health insurance I've bought from them a couple of times ( last order was 5 x prescription glasses, 4 with anti-glare coating, 3 with sunglass tint and 3 with titanium frames delivered for about $83.00).
They also do "transition" lenses very cheaply.
It's not worth it for me to  go to a spec shop even with what they offer.

Whizz
The site is www.zennioptical.com (http://www.zennioptical.com)
You can put a photo of your face on the site and then see what the glasses  look like on yourself.
You  will need the details of your current script and also your PD, but that's probably been left off your script.
I've found the best way to get your PD is by wearing glasses, looking straight ahead and placing a texta dot on your glasses directly in front of your pupils and then measuring between the dots.
Delivery takes 5 - 7 days and if you make an error (certain PDs only suit particular glasses) the company will contact you to make sure everything is okay before posting.

Divers use plastic lenses they stick into their masks to avoid having to wear their specs underwater.

I use 'em on my sun visor inside the Evoline 3 and they work a treat.

PJ, would you mind starting another topic about your Evoline 3 and how you find it etc?
