Well all here are 2 pics only of the Stainless steel foot rests  :p :p

They have just been straight cut and then welded so have yet to have sharp edges removed and polished up.

Should 3 sets done for viewing at Inverell,

The extra width with 3 little hole are an option for automatic operation (central locking units)

As we are still in the process of costings and such including trying to get cheaper shoulder  bolts & getting the covers organised so as yet we cannot give a firm price but we are hoping they will finish up around the $150 to $180 or so.
We will trying to do them as cheap as possible.' especially for members

Hey Tipsy,

I'm very interested in a set.  An extra leg position would be awesome for the long straight roads we have up here in the NT.... :)

Yes people once they have been all finalised and finished to a damn good quality I will you know and as to the price,

now a question is it only the police bikes in either have plate across the crash bar with 3 threaded holes in them.

I just checked the part numbers and the Police versions are different so that plate must be the difference.

Alan that plate and holes are there simply for the mounting of sirens, and nothing more from memory.  As this is the reason for there existence a grinder would solve your dramas.

I gathered that, plus I don't have the P version anyway.

I don't want to remove the plate as it makes it a damn site easier to mount the blades.
no bracket needed underneath.

 bit of an update
maybe it clears up some of the many posts

Hi gents,

I see plans are afoot with the blades, are you looking at making a different style?

Cheers

Streak

P.s. make sure you hit reply all...

" Hit Reply All "

yes and no

maybe, after Tipsy solves the, non police bike, base plate mounting bracket,
(and there are lots of police bikes)
that assembly, with the top mounting plate does not then change.

we could probably offer a second style of Blade, similar to the 1300 blades,
same thickness (6mm stainless), same length, (about 9")
but about a 3rd slimmer, saves a little on cost and weight.

I like the stainless material,

but Tipsy thinks if he molded the Blades in Aluminium, it would make the cost almost ZERO

Aluminium is a relatively soft, durable, lightweight, ductile and malleable metal with appearance ranging from silvery to dull gray,

and Tipsy mentioned to me , He could re-produce them with almost no cost, if we keep up a steady supply of the base material. and possably some propane gas for the burner / heater / melter
and also a little LPG for his BBQ  ;-)

BUT, at this stage in the development of the blades, Tipsy's original design holds fast and true,
the rest, ONLY time will tell

On Friday, I Rode up and Tipsy and I fitted the Highway Wings/Blades to my ST1100, they have worked a treat! rode about 250km home with them, and they sat nicely, and with the backets mounting it, i could rest my feet nicely on them for a different riding position, we do need to do some clean up where we cut in the tipover covers, but very very happy, Tipsy & Harie are very clever men!

below are photos of the processes we went through:

I have purchased a set from the smart pair.
I had them fitted but I found a slight problem with the covers. More an issue with the bike.
The blades are great. :wht11

High Stutter
they cost $150 + p&h,
I can take orders now but wont be ready until end of Jan 13 deposits are optional but would be much appreciated to help purchase materials.
This is for 1100 only.
cutting of the covers is not covered as I have not yet perfected that.

Once I get them I'll have to plan a decently long ride to break them in :)

I presume that you have a standard 1100 not a police version.
standard comes with brackets,
Police models just bolt on.

Dang, now I'm going to have to check.

I coulda sworn it was a PY, but now I need to check. Its obviously been resprayed then.

I have the fairings off currently and I was actually asking myself yesterday why there were a few connections that had loose ends.

Looks like I might have a po-po in disguise! Which is great because I might now be able to pimp it out with all those accessory brackets etc

Post by: Brock on December 12, 2012, 02:04:40 PM
If there is a cluster of plugs under the seat, and a fancy switch block on the right grip that does nothing except start and stop the bike, the you indeed have a PY model.

PY is the designation of the stock standard Police model
Title: Re: ST1100 Highway Blades/wings
Post by: STutter on December 12, 2012, 02:32:51 PM
Yeah PY model ahoy. The switchblock looks pretty dull looking. Probably something missing.

This bike is a funny one. The calipers were painted red at some point, then sprayed black.

The list goes on

If the tip over frames have a plate with 3 threaded holes in them then its py or the tip over frame have been replaced,

Title: Re: ST1100 Highway Blades/wings

Yeah its definately a PY model. The sticker says so, and there are the extra electrical connections and the tipover wings have three holes in them.

Looks like Stutter is an undercover officer. Its probably had a hard life, but still goes, so I'm happy :)

yes
with a few small questions
police or non police
tipsy has been a bit crook and a bit quiet
i am not sure if he has any more blades    ask him

new burnt blades are not a problem
i also think he has made a small mod. to the design

ask him also

Well its a PY model, but there is only one bolt hole on the frame bits. Tackleberry came and had a look at it the other day and he reckons its a police, but without most of the gear that would make it police. May never had made it into service or something.

I'll check with tipsy too

The PY model has a bigger engine cover/wing, I mistakenly ordered a smaller right hand civilian cover.  The cover/wing I have is free to a good home to anyone prepared to ride to meet me or pay for postage.

See ST1100, fairings etc.

They should be the same as part numbers are the same except for the 1990 to 1994 models. There were two part numbers for each side in 1995 as there was a colour variation (different shade of grey) that year on S and AS models. The PS (1995) only had the newer shade which continued until the end of the P model in 2003. The 1996 models onwards all had the newer shade of grey. The only difference is the colour so they should fit all models from 1995 onwards.

The RH wing was changed in 1995 on all models as well which needed a different wing cover from that year.

Item 21 and 22 all show the same part number for 2000 models but is the same for 1996 onwards.

http://www.st-1100.com/st1100-parts-fiche-fairing-st1100py.html (http://www.st-1100.com/st1100-parts-fiche-fairing-st1100py.html)

The only way anyone could get the wrong cover for the RH side is if you order for a P model but that on its own means a 1993 1100 as the police version is PP that year.

The part your giving away will only fit 1990 to 1994 models if the information on this site is correct.

I have looked at this a bit more in relation to this post http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=5149.msg56705#msg56705 (http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=5149.msg56705#msg56705)

It seems Mr Honda threw a spanner in the works.

The basic colour for the wing covers and the belly pan is Gusto Grey on all models however in 1995 another colour Fur Grey was also available as above on 1100S and 1100AS models. 1995 also saw a design change in the RH crash bar which resulted in a modified RH wing cover.

Going to 1996 or 1100T and 1100AT we get another shade of grey called Glen Grey. So it looks like that in 1995/6 you got a different shade of grey depending on the body colour.

To add confusion to the tale on what model do the wing covers fit. Honda tried to sell me those with the bottom recessed but mine are standard. My STead is a Model PY
Another thing I think Tipsys look better so are you making or have you any available Tipsy

Sometimes I'll place my heel on the wing while I'm riding just to straighten the leg out for a minute or two and I can only just get to the rear of the wing so I doubt if I bought any of these I'd be able to reach them.
