Hello All,
Diesel and I had planned an OzSTOC display at the risbane Spring Motorcycle Show & Shine 22nd of September, unfortunately he and i are know out of the Equation.
Would any of our fine QLD member like to go along set the bikes up, take the OzSTOC cards and show off who we are?
Event Flyer is Below, it is being organised by the redlands Ulysses, and the Fastor Pastor is also an ST rider so getting a good spot to set up is not a problem :) it would be from 10am-2pm next saturday

Can you give me a call or send me a message if your keen on helping out.
Cheers

I'll stick my hand up for this if you'd like.
I suppose that means I'll have to wash the bike!?!
-
it would be fantastic to have a few of us there, we dont need to be in the show and shine, just having a display of ST1100 & ST1300 and showing off who we are :)
-
I'm going to be there with CMA as per last year, so will try to find where Whizz has secured a spot and park beside him.
-
We have a couple of takers to man the spot and Talk OzSTOC to the crowds at the Brisbane Spring Motorcycle Show & Shine 22nd of September
Whizz & Bluey have put up their hands, Biggles is going to park his bike with them so there are more than 2 ST's on show.
Does anyone else have a few hours free on Saturday Morning to go and spread the good word? we need just 4 hours of your time :thumb
it would be appreciated greatly if we had a couple more faces that could help out :thumbsup
Cheers

I will have to give it a miss this year guys,
Tipsy
-
The organising committee of the show and shine have allocated Ozstoc a traders display area where we can have a stall, put a few bikes on display and have some good display area!
so we wont be in the corner out of the way :thumb
-
I love to help out guys. What's the plan? What time do we need to be there? Is there a 'secret password' to gain access to the display area?
-
well if i can get a few of you together, i will confirm all the details but counting you skip there is:
Skip
Bluey
Whizz
Biggles Bike...
so if anyone else has the time, i will get all the information to you, but it is basically, but he bikes together in the the trade area, and talk ozstoc to anyone who stops in and says hello, hand out cards, and talk about what we do and who we are :)
-
Too easy. 2 Red ones and 2 Blue ones but some company for the lone 1100 would be great.
Mines 'farkle free'. Does that matter? Lol.
Looking forward to catching up with you again Whizz and will be good to meet you Bluey. Biggles??? Always good to see you. :grin
Will you send some cards Streak or can I pop around to see Diesel for some?
Skip.
-
whizz is going to pop up and see me, and grab a bunch of cards :thumb so that should be sorted :)
-
Good as gold.
-
Sounds like a plan to me! :hatwave
-
My experience last year as a LONE OzSTOC display bike was a very good one - turned out we had 7 or 8 members show up - even our (at the time) LONE Territorian OzRider.
It's a great day to see some fantastic machinery and rave with some great people in our brotherhood. We even had the ST100 powered three wheeler there from John & June's extensive Mt Tamborine garage.
I even won one of the raffles! :runyay Who'd a thought?
Did I mention it is a great chrity event too - I believe you can display your machine with only a further gold coin donation on top of the entry fee.
Here is a link to last year's event with pics....
Doh! can't find it! :cuss
I think my bike will be in bits on the day - not to mention using up a few riding brownie points lately.... :whistle
Enjoy all who attend and get some pics pls.
Cheers, Diesel
-
Streak, I'll take a run up the hill tomorrow and drop in to see you, mid to late morning. OK?

Looks like I'm going to have to take 2 shirts along if there's gonna be photos took.
Sounds good to me Mr Biggles, you had better make sure Barry takes his to, Whizz is going to ride up and get some extra Cards off me to hand out :thumb hopefully some of our fantastic Queensland Members can get away to stop in and say hello to :wink1 diesel and i have used up quite alot of our brownie points so we are unable to get there this year...
we could always have people stalk the car parks and tag every Honda ST they find with an OzSTOC Card to :)
-
Just got back from what was supposed to be a quick easy run up the hill to Toowoomba. Plan derailed by a) Roadworks and b) a truck crash, both at the bottom of the incline I think I walked the ST up the range! By the time I got to Streaks place I was very hot and sticky and my jacket, jeans and helmet were all soaking wet with sweat!
The Roads in Toowoomba are the most dreadful in Australia without any shadow of a doubt, there are ruts in the Warrego Highway through town that you lose Canberra in (which thinking about it might not be such a bad idea! I reckon they are not roads but a collection of tarmac and concrete slabs loosely joined together at various places by dollops of tarmac.
Called into the pub at Murphy's creek for a beer and sandwich on the way home.
Anyway I now have a couple fo large handfuls of OzSTOC cards for us to shower on unsuspecting riders on Saturday!
-
Great to see you Whizz, sorry i was so busy, been a touch crazy here today! and he is not wrong he has a BIG handful of ozstoc cards ;)
-
:wht11 py with twin blue diamonds strips
If I can borrow some funds of the family I will be there guys.

Streak,
Sorry mate but I'm a bit confused as to exactly what, if anything, needs to be "set up" on Saturday. I got the impression from our conversation this morning that it was simply a case of parking the bikes together in a 'trade' area, then standing around answering questions from passers-by as required. I know that you were saying that you were trying to get a flag made up but I didn't think this was going to be in existence for Saturday. You were saying that Fastor Pastor is an ST rider as well (so presumably he might be parking up with us?) and that Biggles would be parking with our group, was that the extent of the 'set-up'? A little more detail, please?

You have it in one, the extent of the setup is simple, bring bikes, park them in the trade area so you are visible, Barry and Kenn will be able to give you some direction where to put the bikes (that's the setup), I would make sure everyone is in by 8.30 to be safe :thumb:thumb
-
OK, got it, no problem.
Skip, BobSTer, Bluey OK? I will be there by 08:30...see you blokes there!
-
Yep - I'll be there by 8.00 to 8.30 (at the latest). Looking forward to STirring up the crowd with passion! :bl11

Biggles, Barry, Brian, and Fastor Pastor will also be about, but they will be on Redlands Ulysses duties as well.
Everyone is arriving around 8.30 to get their bikes in to make our display of ST's, So there will be a few of the good folk of OzSTOC about, if you wake up Saturday morning and want to come down, you will be more than welcome :thumb
-
Hi people,
Being between jobs, I've been distracted with job-seeking; so sorry for not being in contact earlier. Wish me luck at an interview tomorrow Friday arvo.
I live about 1 km from the Show 'n' Shine venue. My ST needs a good bath, but if I can get it clean tomorrow evening, maybe even Sat morning early, I may be available to get it into the display too and spend some time on the ST stand. However I can always help on the Redlands Ulysses activities if I can get down. Unfortunately I don't yet own a shirt (slack, I know).
Here's the latest of my shinny red 13, posed for use on the Australian Motorcycle Council web site, at: http://www.amc.asn.au/web/executive-committee (http://www.amc.asn.au/web/executive-committee)

A cunningly placed OzSTOC sticker?
low cut polish?
black elec tape?
model airplane touch up paint (temporary)?

Roger, not sure the best way to smooth any gouging, but to get the colour back, I found a 'satin black' vinyl paint that is a perfect match for the underbelly black plastic fairing bits on our ST13s: 3M Vinyl Paint - Satin Black - code VINSB4003M. Available in400g tins at Supercheap Auto stores.
Good luck.

Hi Guy's
Everything is marked out for tomorrows Show and Shine. From memory we have positioned Ozstoc next to the Goldwing club, so at least Brian won't have to walk far :thumbsup
As far as set up goes Whizz, its just turn up with a few bikes and put them on display in the area we have allocated for Ozstoc. You'll get 3 or 4 in there without trouble.
This is a fund raising event for Redland's Pallative care. The norm for trade exhibitors is to donate something towards the raffles, or donate a percentage of the traders days takings. Given Ozstoc is not really in a position to do that if each member attending is happy enough just to pay the normal $5 entry fee on the day and perhaps chip in and buy a few raffle tickets as well that will be great.
The traders and display bikes will enter the grounds from the gate at the far end of the park. I'll be there registering each bike going in the show to be judged, and other people will be there to direct the traders and Ozstoc to their allocated areas. (The sites are all numbered)
See you all in the morning. We'll be there from 6am setting up. Had a shower there today, but tomorrow is supposed to be fine.
Cheers
Barry and Marissa

Raffle a free 12 month OzSToc membership, and donate the proceeds... :crackup :crackup :crackup :crackup
-
OK, Barry (et al), sounds good, see you in the morning.
-
I'm sure all attending can afford to chip in for the entry as well as boost the Raffle coffers.
Looking forward to a great day.
Cheers.
Skip.

guys, bring a mug and Whizz and I between us will bring tea bags, coffee, milk, sugar, gas cooker, kettle and water...all the makings!

Uh-oh. Looks like we need an OzSTOC hat!!
Maybe not a cap, but for real protection, a fabric bucket hat in our colours with Logo.
-
A decent hat with proper brim would definatly be a goer. What can you do Streak??
:bl11
-
:hatwave No. Biggles said no cap. :spank And I agree as I was wearing a cap on Saturday. They keep the sun out of your eyes and that's it.
