Well I have been given the go ahead by mummy to start looking for a new bike project to replace the 1100.......so instead of only me looking will tell everyone to keep an eye/ear out......
So looking for a immaculate 2006 onwards ST1300 in Blue or Charcoal with sub 50,000 k's......prefer NSW / SEQ......Only interested in near pristine condition bike with service history.
Have got bikesales.com, tradingpost covered.....let's see what you see

There are some minor mods from 2008 on so suggest if think about from there on.

The 08s plus have side covers either side under the riders seat, left side where the rear shock adjuster is and right side similar place. Also the GiPro electronic gear indicator plugs straight into the ecu monitoring connection for 08s plus but not before so there is some electronic changes. Also worth noting that 08s (and maybe some later models) had a recall to do with a rear brake line so you need to follow up that it has been done. No charge of cause.

Hang in there Sabie. My missus got shafted by the Bligh Gov after a lifetime with Qld health. She hasn't looked back mate. Except when Qld Health was going to take action against her for not keeping up her Nurses Registration. That came about 8 months after she had been paid out by Qld Health. It's still a basket case as we have many friends still employed by Qld Health. There seems little accountability by our politicians performance, regardless of your persuasion.
Something will come your way mate.

79 uniformed officers over 4 levels in my division of QFRS. 45 to go by march 2013. The remaining who ever they will be have to reapply for the position. 6 offices to close, innifail, charters towers, barcaldine, emerald, Roma and maryborough. Uniformed officers from these location will be retrenched, all level 1 officers (entry level) are terminated.

These are full time officers of QFRS who train, supply, manage large scale fires and equip the 32,000 volunteer firefighters in Queensland.

I hear you Sabie, O'Farrell Gov. in NSW is trying to do the same with us, Fire and Rescue NSW formerly (NSWFB) we have to save millions of dollars per year, so we fight fires on a budget now. Though a percentage of your house insurance (if you have it) has a Fire levy attached, that the Gov. is now controlling. Sorry off topic, I'll keep an eye out for a excellent bike. Cheers all.

Have you considered this one. We have Firies at most major airports around the country.

Hey thanks Gadget, I'm not a young buck that could pass the physical. I'm 50 and props too old and not fit enough to run around like the young ones.

I'm 50 too, we also have our own training centre for Fire Officers down in Melbourne. Possibly worth throwing your hat in the ring. Can't hurt, never hurts to try, you never know. Besides, we have some senior Fire Officers too! They are Station Commanders. :)
By the sound of it you probably have experience our guys could use.

What a bugger Sabie. I'm 49 in a couple of weeks and I was getting very nervous waiting for our ADG to announce what cuts he was making in EMQ, luckily I was spared the axe however a number of our people weren't. A couple of blokes I know well up here are ATSO's and BTSO's and they've been told that come March they could be looking for a new job.
I really feel for all those that have lost their jobs and hope that something comes along soon. Good luck mate, (we'll have to catch up for a drink sometime).
