I am seriously thinking about a wool set cover for the ST1100, what are everyone's thoughts and experiences?
Looking to find out pro's and con's of getting one :thumb

I've had lambswool on a few of my bikes and found they added a certain level of breathable comfort but when it rained very wet bum. On my VFR800 and now my wing I've chosen not to lambswool my seat . It looked good on the ST but that stock seat was soooo uncomfortable.

I have a lambs wool seat cover and love it. Although I also have the family car decked out in lambs wool front and rear too.
Only thing I'd recommend, which I got done, is a waterproof elastic cover to place over the seat to stop sun damage or rain wetting the seat while parked. Of course you take it off when riding.
Highly recommended.

We made up our own.
Heather picked up a goat skin several years ago so after comparing the skin to the seat it looked to be the right size. So i added 3 lengths of 25mm elastic. One at each end and one in the centre. It doesn't take long to put on or remove which I do for wet weather. All up cost was about $60.
Our attempt for the border run earlier this year was the first longish ride we've done with both the new seat and seat cover and it was a vast improvement over the stock seat. Apart from the added comfort the bonus is the protection the seat leather gets in hot sunny weather.

I have sheepskin seat covers on the ST1300 for the extra layer of comfort and breathability and in summer no burnt arse. :whistle
I can recommend the seat covers from http://www.cruisncomfort.com/, (http://www.cruisncomfort.com/,) Great service and premium Aussie product. :thumbsup
They also have waterproof covers available.

I have a custom seat, so I was thinking of getting it done locally so it is a proper fit :)

I got mine made locally by wooly fleece in Townsville they were really good and I was happy with the price, quality and service.
I think locally, tailor made is the way to go. You can talk to the guys who are making your covers, tell them what you want and the cover is a really good fit.
That's my 2 cents

I use an old car seat cover that I cut down to fit. Its a bit worn but is still more comfy than the vynal cover from Honda.

Had a custom fitted one for a few years now. Certainly feel nice, but as has already been mentioned, you need to cover them or take them off if raining, when you're not riding of course. Made very little difference to the comfort level of the OEM seat on the 1300.

Iv had a custom made one now for a number of years now , originally got it for more comfort on the standard 1300 seat but made no difference ,so bought an airhawk cushion but sad to say find it fairly uncomfortable. As these two options have failed I am now getting my seat re designed by John Moorhouse , heres hoping.

I had one custom tailored for the single seat on my 1100 by Woolly Fleece in Cairns. I chose the skin myself from their selection so I knew exactly what colour and texture I was getting. I also have an Airhawk underneath the woolly cover which makes it very comfortable. Two weeks ago I spent 9 hours and about 740kms on the bike in one hit (with a couple of stops) and at the end I could still walk and felt like I could have gone for another couple of hours.
