It's an easy fit up and well worth the effort. The sound is 20x better than genuine.

The Stebel is in and WOW! It is amazing - couldn't ask for better/louder!
I couldn't mount it high up under the speaker area as per the US-site's instructions as I have a Seng light bracket in the way (for the PIAAs). The bracket uses the 2 bolt locations suggested for the Stebel. So rather than try to split the horn into 2 pieces, or to mount it on the left side of the bike, I decided to try to get it lower on the right side close to where the OEM horn sits.
Mounting the Stebel lower on the RHS allows its air outlets to sit directly adjacent to the slots of the inner cowl where the OEM horn sits - meaning the sound escapes beautifully from the enclosure of the fairings. To do this I first removed the OEM horn together with its mounting bracket.
This leaves the tubular subframe extension with a single bolt hole in its flattened end. I then used vice grips to crush/flatten another 30 or 40mm of this tube, allowing me to bend it up at a right-angle to take a bolt through the Stebel's mounting point. The trick is to end up with just the right length for bolting the horn the bracket.
I cut the small locating tab off the end of the bracket (and filed it clean), then drilled another hole closer to the end of this bracket (between the existing hole and the end - so no excess bracket is sticking out past the side of the horn). A bit of black spray paint to touch it up, then bolt it all in place and attach the wiring. This first pic shows this and how I used a vertical bolt rather than the larger horizontal bolt that came with the horn:

These two pics give a better overall view. Note the separate heavy gauge power (red) and ground (black) to the relay. The power wire to the relay feeds directly from the battery with a 20amp fuse located at the battery end.

As can be seen above, it is pretty crowded inside this left-side fairing, but I was reasonably confident the fairings would all slot back into place without any real problems. I used to have twin FIAMM "highway blaster" horns located in the same spot as the Stebel, and it took quite a bit of fiddling with the brackets to get them to fit in the space, but in the end it was okay and as the Stebel horn is no bigger, the fairing and cowl fitted back in place beautifully.
So don't copy this mount yet until I check it all fits !! :o

Why have one horn when two will do?

I fitted the twin electric stebal horns to my St1300. I didnt have to remove all the plastics, just the left and right inner guards .Rhs I removed the oem horn and fitted one there,then the Lhs the screw that holds the faring to the bracket .lifted the tank Andean the wiring harness under the seat.
These are the best horns, will plow the wax out of your ears :blk13

I agree with the install that John has done (excellent photos). It will fit, yes it has go lower on the RHS to line up the horn outlets to the horn slots on the inner cowl. One thing though I would not use screw terminals where there is a chance that it would get wet. Better to use High Quality (pay a little extra) quick connects with boots and then seal with silicone grease (do not use too much). A single outer boot can be used to further protect the assembly.
These horns work well, others will certainly hear you. However my passenger gets a fright when I use it. It is not easy on the ears even with the helmet on.

When I get it installed, I'll post some pics.
I bought one from there last week and the girl behind the counter told me Stebel Italy had closed and that they are running out of some models, but they can still get the compacts at the moment.
Price last week was $50.00 including GST.
Now to fit it!! I've tested it on the car battery and WOW!!
Did anyone who has done this use a separate switch or have you put the relay in parallel with the original horn?
Looking at the photos I'm going to need some Wire and a 20 Amp fuse and some Crimp terminals.
Good thing I've got the week off to get this and a few other things sorted.

I simply used the 2 existing wires from the [Honda] horn to drive the new relay for the Stebel.
In my pics, you can see the red relay cable-tied into position on top of the new horn, with the two existing horn terminals with the black insulating covers on the relay.

So I take it you've replaced the OEM horn with the Stebel.
I was considering trying to have both, but I guess it might sound a bit weird. Then again with the volume of noise these put out, you possibly wouldn't hear the original any way.
Which side of the bike is this installed on? It looks to be on the right but you mentioned the left fairing.
How much work is there in getting the covers off?
Just started going through the service manual and trying to work out where to start.
