Title: SnowyRide 2011
Post by: saaz on November 02, 2011, 09:12:12 PM
I forgot before now to ask if anyone else was going. Terry from here is, but haven't noticed anyone else. Leaving Thursday morning, back Sunday afternoon.  I will be staying in Thredbo.  Should be a nice lazy ride to scrub in the sides of the tyres not used much on the Eungella ride .

Anyway    :wht11

I walked around with the Ozstoc t on, only ran into Farriders.  Lts of ST of the 11 and 13 variety on the ride, just could not get to talk to the riders.

I was there. Perfect weather for riding... Much nicer than last year. I too saw a number of ST's however did not get a chance to introduce myself. Didn't see any OzSTOC shirts. Still have to sort myself out with one of those come to think of it. Here are a few PICS...

Not an ST but the VFR was brilliant to ride... Glad I got the opportunity... :thumbsup

I test rode the ST13 and Goldwing.  ST13 is familiar but different to the ST11, which is a good thing.  Love the brakes, feels more compact because of the way they have done the bodywork. Idle sounded a lot different (idle was 900rpm - is that ok) but sounded the same one going.  More power across the torque curve, but not greatly so.  I could live with one quite ok .

The Goldwing was a surprise package. Lived up to all I have read about it. It could go as fast around corners as you wanted, on the road no slower than an ST.  Brakes even better than the ST13 give its size. the rear brake linked to the front has enough power normally to not bother use the brake lever, but that is a bad habit to learn (great for former cruiser riders I guess).  definitely a tourer for ST and sports riders who want all that corner handling stuff but want all those extras as standard.
