This is a ride report on NQ's 2nd offical unofficial RTE.
This ride was brought to you by Tackelberry, Organiser, Coordinator and all round not the Boss.
The NQ chapter gathered at the BP Cluden on the Southern Side of Townsville at 07:00, (thats 7am in civilian speak), which was not the Walkabout Servo, apparently it had gone... um... Walkabout..
Anywho the old guard was joined by 2 new members in Mystic2 and Rhino (And yes you guessed it they have Red ST's) We we're also joined by 2 very welcome guests Riding Yamaha FJR1300's.
So the list of our ride was as follows:
Tackelberry ST1100 Maroon (Sort of red) Sorry Takleberry can't remember the offical colour.
Rendog ST13000 - Red
Mystic2 ST1300 - Red
Rhino ST1300 - Red
Sabie (me) ST1300 - Blue
Andrew - FJR1300 - Silver
Darryl (I think) - FJR1300
Absent with Apologies
Chrislee - ST1300 - Red
Hanno - ST1100 - Gold
Bikebear - ST1100 - Gold
The Ride proceded South to Clare Road around 60 K's South of Townsville. Then across to Clare passing a few Cane Trains working. Over to Ayr where the Breakfast RTE was ... Closed.
As Tackleberry the Leader of todays band of Bikers threw his hands in the air stating phrases like "its not my fault, (well, no not really) he quickly dust himself off to lead the group to a small local market where on arrival Mrs Sabie and myself were attacked by a swarm of killer European Wasps. We knew they were European Wasps as they had their passports.
A quick tour of the Markets (45 Seconds Approx) and some 30 minutes licking our Wasp Wounds and we were back to our RTE spot which opened at 9am (09:00 for you military folk).
An enjoyable Breakfast was had by all, yarns swapped, stories told and fun poked at our Yamy Brothers.
It was interesting to note that when each of the ST's parked it was observed that by some alignment of the planets or something, that each of the Bikes had parked in date order of their rego month.
Rhino April, Mystic2 May, Sabie June, Rendog July and Tack August. I personally think it's a sign for Oz Lotto Tuesday so I'm off to buy some tickets.

Nice write up,sounds like a good time was had except for the wasps. How did you come to get in teir way????
Bikes had parked in date order of their rego month.
We cant do that in the West, as we dont have stickers that say when rego is due, We dont have stickers at all.. :p :p

Good to see that a nearly well oiled plan go off yet again. :thumbs An idea for Middleton might be lining up the bikes in date of manufacture order. Might require some pre-organisation, and as even getting all the bikes lined up is a task... :crackup

Good write-up Sabie :thumbs
It sounds like everyone had a good time :runyay, just might have to make the starting time a little later next time :wink1
Thanks for sharing mate :hatwave
Cheers
Shiney

A later starting time would be good Shiney, but unfortunately we would melt of die of moisture depravation....
The ride home at around 10:30 - 11:00 was 30 degrees with about 80% humidity which when combined gives you a "feels Like" temp of around 42 to 44 degrees.
just to hot to ride through the day.

I may have had a small part to do with that Brock because Sabie parked right behind me, and I think I stirred them up riding passed, and then they saw my slightly coloured flouro jacket, and attacked the wrong bike. :grin
As for your observations Michael I am sure the Big K company would be happy to know that the GTR1400 looks like an FJR1300, because we had one of each. :rofl
Tackelberry ST1100 Maroon (Sort of red) Sorry Takleberry can't remember the offical colour. The colour is Wineberry Michael, but red will do because it's not blue. :p
Andrew - GTR1400 - Neutron Silver
Darryl - FJR1300 - Silver/Blue
But everybody had a good laugh and enjoyed the ride, which was the important thing. :runyay

Damn :eek :eek
In that case you should make the next RTE earlier and to a cafe that opens early (in an industrial area maybe) or a 24hr truck stop café :grin
Temps like that just can't be much fun to ride in :'(

Hey Tack, all tongue in cheek.... Pauline is still having a reaction to the stings, a large red area on her hip about he size of a playing card in an oval shape.
And my apologies to Andrew and Darryl, i didn't really get a good look at Andrews bike just assumed it was the same as darryl's.
Mate it was a great ride great to see our new members, feedback from Mystic was he and Mrs Mystic enjoyed it very much.
Do we want to try and get one more in before Christmas or leave it till January?
We thought about a late afternoon ride close by for coffee or a light dinner? It was to hot for us by the time we got home and Mystic mentioned the heat as well. PM me with your thoughts.
Thanks Steve
Michael

Hey, and what do you mean it's not Blue....????? LOL
-
Hope Pauline is doing better mate. At least she now knows that she's not allergic - but they still sting.
All good on the bikes mate cause I'm sure they wouldn't give a rats as long as they get an invite to the ride.
Definitely need another ride before Xmas mate. The other suggestion I was thinking about was up the hill to Paluma for a coffee at the restaurant there, or a short one up Hervey's Range to the catshit coffee lounge. Just need plenty of time to organise the roster.
By riding a red one buddy I am showing my true QUEENSLAND colours, didn't you know that? LOL. :rofl

All good
Pauline counted 8 stings in total. She's also suggested a BBQ at our place one evening before Chrissy for the ST Gang.
