Thanks to Dave Roper for his advice.
For a nice black colour on you belly pan, panniers and anything else black, use Mothers Naturally Black. My belly plastics were a grey/ white colour, now black again. Great stuff. Available from Repco. You can get a discount with your RAC card.
To clean the Stainless steel mufflers, Bartenders Friend. Takes the yellow out of the mufflers/ pipes. Even removes the sole marks that get on hot pipes. (Just a bit more scrubbing required). Available from Kitchen Warehouse.

Pleasure Mal,
They're great products aren't they? Glad you're happy with them.
I thought I posted something about them on the 'old' forum, then again maybe I didn't.
Take care,
Dave

I thought I did.
Bar Tender's Friend is fantastic. Make sure you follow the direction though. I believe that if you leave it on too long it leaves marks. I inadvertently left it on for about 2 minutes and had no problem but I wouldn't want to push my luck with it.
Get some, I'm sure you'll be impressed.

And I thought a bartenders friend would be a bottle opener with a corkscrew. :beer :whistle >:()

The product barkeepers friend?....do you know of any large companies that stock it...can't seem to find it in Hobart..
Same in Sydney. Apart from online sales + the inevitable postage, where do we get it from?

Another vote for Mothers Naturally Black. Been using it for years on the bike and the cage. Regular use and "Bob's your Uncle" .

Yeah, I could only find it online too so I ended up doing a ring-round to all the kitchenware suppliers etc.
One of them, I'm sorry but I can't remember who, asked me if there was a 'Kitchen Warehouse' nearby.
There was, I rang them and they had some in stock. Rode straight there, bought some, got home and couldn't even wait for the mufflers to cool.
Panniers off, wet a cloth, dabbed it in some BKF and dabbed it on one of the mufflers, then on the other. All the time thinking, "This is crazy. One minute and then wipe it off. It'll never work!"
Went back to the first muffler, wiped it off.................................... SH1T! It really works!
I washed the mufflers down afterwards just to make sure it was all removed. That must have been a good 10,000k ago and they still look reasonable. I much prefer the stainless look to the bronzed look.
It's also great for around the house too. Make sure you buy one for your other half and hide yours. Once she gets to see how good it is she'll be using it all the time.
It's worth getting a couple anyway. I went to get a friend some and they were out of stock (It's very popular here it would seem) and he ended up waiting about 3 months before they got more stock in.
Good luck,
Dave

For any of you that have used Bartenders friend on your exhauts how long did it keep the clean appearance till you had to redo them?
-
How long is a long wait?
It depends on what you have ridden through and in what weather you did it in.
The last ride to Gnomesville with Turtle, we encounted roadworks and gravel. Time for BKF.
If you stay on tar, give them a rub every 5000K and they stay shiny.
