Title: Wanna join me on this 500km loop?
Post by: Diesel on November 15, 2012, 11:41:39 AM
I'm probably going to be doing this loop Saturday 17 Nov......

http://goo.gl/maps/DIjIi (http://goo.gl/maps/DIjIi)

:beer  and   :eat  will be somewhere like Kingaroy RSL     <------------ great spot that!

The reason:

....ummmmmm       :think1

Wanna join me?

Be at this 7-11 at 0645hrs for an 0700hrs ride out  (so we're back not too late). (I could be talked into a little later if you're keen to come along).

I've checked, and there are no day passes to the Imbil Rally.

I'll either see you, or I won't - all good.      :thumbsup

You will LOVE this ride.

Cheers, Diesel

You have picked a great loop Diesel! Unfortunately I am prebooked for a Byron brewery tour/lunch with the 'boss', returning via the hinterland of NSW to get away from the dreaded M1 motorway (read BORING!).
Enjoy your loop. I have been over these roads and they are a hoot!
Billyb.

I'm "nursey" to the hippy wife.

She's getting more independent every day, but it's still less than 2 weeks since the rebuild.

Easy Pezy!!

At this rate - I can stop and syphon a few litres to an 1100 that has run dry on the side of the road, and still cruise home.        :nahnah

Now if that's not tempting fate - I dunno what is!         >:()          :rofl

Last time I put petrol from my bike (a Suzuki GT750K triple) into a Suzuki GT500 twin when he stopped a fair bit short of the next petrol stop, I was the one who ran out 100 metres from the service station  :cuss

Diesel
I Would love to go but i will be working >:(
I will be smelling the exhaust of another Diesel.
A Diesel Electric Locomotive but someone has to do it.
And it keeps the bank  :)
You may get a bit better fuel economy than me.
At approximately 9 litre per km when pulling. It's not real good
But with a 6500 litre fuel tank you can get a fair distance.

Have a good ride :rd13

Diesel, maybe you are looking to change your sign on to Empty

Hahaha!   Mock away non-believers!           :butt

I'll just have time to stop at the Goomeri Bakery for some croc pie and a huge slice of HUMBLE PIE to share out amongst you.       :rofl

Might have to sign on as TRIUMPHANT!        :crackup

Since there are no takers - I am going to leave a lot earlier - as I love to be on the bike out in the country for the sunrise.

I'll post a few pics. (but not of me pushing an empty bike!)        :fp

Cheers, Diesel

I can sympathise with the early start.  It's getting too hot to enjoy the hot STs down on the low country.
However, there's a possibility of showers and a storm for Brissie tomorrow, so it might not be too bad.

I read one of our number bound his left header pipe to reduce the baked leg syndrome.  I actually bought the bandages to do this, but was advised against it by a Honda mechanic who said the engine is designed to get rid of some heat there, and to contain it might overhead a head, a valve or cause the header to crack or deform.    :eek

Another point with exhaust bandages is what effect they might have on the metal in the pipes.  Has anyone noticed heat reduction from changing the exhausts, as the cat converters go which might vent some heat?

Lol - blackout here due to weather. All good now.    :crazy

Changed this ride to an evening outing (as the weather for Sat was to be terrible), and threw in a little testing to boot.

Read about the ride here.....

I am sorry Harry, this was a last minute run, and to be honest we don't do phone notifications of events, we do posts and personal messages events are on, I think Teela would KILL me if I started ringing each individual person about events  :crackup I spend to much time on here as it is  :thumb

I'm impressed.

511km in 6.5 hours, assuming lunch was had. You did not baby your 1300.

Well done, this 1100 owner would have had to fuel up around 450km (just to be sure he did not have to walk, or wait to be rescued by a 1300 AGAIN.)
