Title: A Good Deed
Post by: ST.George on November 22, 2012, 04:05:45 PM: This guy arrives at the Pearly Gates. He has to wait to be admitted, while St. Pete leafs through his Big Book.

He's checking to see if the guy is worthy of entry or not. Saint Peter goes through the books several times, furrows his brow, and says to the guy, "You know, I can't see that you did lots of good in your life but, you never did anything bad either.

Tell you what, if you can tell me of one REALLY good deed that you did in your life, you're in."

The guy thinks for a moment and says, "Well, there was this one time when I was drivin' down the highway and I saw a Biker Gang assaulting this poor girl. I slowed down my car to see what was going on, and sure enough, that's what they were doing. There were about 50 of 'em torturing this chick.

Infuriated, I got out my car, grabbed a tire iron from my trunk and walked straight up to the leader of the gang. He was a huge guy with a studded leather jacket and a chain running from his nose to his ear. As I walked up to the leader, the Gang formed a circle all around me.

So I ripped the leader's chain off his face and smashed him over the head with the tire iron. Then I turned around and yelled to the rest of them, 'Leave this poor, innocent girl alone, you slimes! You're all a bunch of sick, deranged animals! Go home before I teach you all a lesson in pain!'"

St. Peter, extremely impressed, says, "Really? Wow, when did all this happen?"

"Er.. about two minutes ago."

That's right Bill - along with St. George and 17 Dragons who all live part-time in the Gong.

PS: decided to take off the Mother Teresa bit because it is a little disrespectful of religion I suppose and not only that but Terese is not yet convinced of the advantages of m/cycling especially after our lock-up and fall the other weekend. BTW I opened the master cylinder and found the upper chamber (above the seal) full of condensation and the fluid itself to be murky). Therefore the brakes need a bleed and this might resolve my inability to always stop smoothly. Also, I have noticed the brakes to be somewhat spongy but put this down to a characteristic of the ST.

Post by: Brock on November 23, 2012, 09:47:58 AM: I sugest you siphon out the reservoir, and refill with fresh fluid before starting the bleed, no point in putting that crap through the system if you dont have to.

However, I removed that black hose piece and extended it with more hose to reach the jar on the ground.
I use a little grease around the nipple prior to attaching the hose to create an air seal.

Rear brake was spongey = changed fluid removed air bubble = great now.
The more I read the less I know, I know.

Thanx Dave - by coincidence bought one of these last week. Thought it a good idea because it doesn't need to be submerged in fluid there4 can use a large flat container that I can't knock over. Good tip on the reservoir Brock. And to keep Whizz happy: Another slightly religious joke:

• A police officer pulled over two nuns riding on a motorcycle, and said to the rider, 'Ma'am, you're driving much too slowly, could you please drive faster?"
• And the nun says, 'Oh, I saw the sign with the "21" and assumed the speed limit was 21 km/h"
• The officer explains: 'No ma'am, the speed limit is 80. The highway number is Interstate 21."
