Title: Is this Plastic?
Post by: Whizz on November 27, 2012, 04:41:03 PM
Hey guys (and gals), under the front seat, going under the cross-member, there is a plate that has the tyre information sticker on it. Pic below;

Can anyone tell me if this is plastic (it feels like it) and if so is there anything under it which would be damaged by me inserting a small self-tapping screw through it to mount a plastic clip to hold the Powerlet socket. A picture of the clip and the Powerlet socket in question are below;

As you can see the clip 'aint very big! so the attaching screw will also be quite small.

Whizz,

Just use some Silastic (Black to match the colour ?? ) to glue it on. Or use hot melt blue. Sticks really well, and pretty easy to clean off should the need arise.

P.S. It is plastic, its the upper of the mudguard, so not sure I want a screw pointing at the tyre.

Always wanting to drill holes in the bike!  You're a real worry.
But thanks for warning us all in case you advertise it here.   :grin

Mate, there's a big difference between talking about it and actually doing it! so far I've not drilled any holes in anything, not even for the front shelf!  :grin
