Title: How to ruin a good ride.
Post by: keith3po on November 29, 2012, 03:07:15 AM
First day off since July put me feet up have a rest .........naah.  8)
Set off to nowhere in particular went through Clitheroe,Nelson,Colne, over to Keighley down to Hebden bridge and Todmorden.
Some great roads no motorways getting used to the Wing now and the twisties are fun again.  :grin
Sun was out but its a bit chilly stopped for coffee twice.

About 3 mile from home feeling really chuffed with myself   :)  i come to a junction where i'm turning left slowed right down light's on green start the turn.
D***head in a Vauxhall sh**e coming in the opposite direction turns right in front of me decided to slow down and let him go but he's coming right at me   :eek . I pulled in towards the pavement we are eyeballing each other now he's looking at me as if its my fault tosser, put my feet down but left foot slips off the pavement and down i go. Bike is perched on the edge of the pavement and i'm all over the pavement.
The afore mentioned TOSSER screeched his tyres and left, two guys stopped all the traffic by getting out of their cars and picking my bike up i didn't even get their names.
Fortunately no damage done tip over bars and highway pegs scraped but thats it.
Now my nerves are jangled and i'm struggling to calm down day ruined.  :(

Darn it! Sorry that a nice ride ended that way.       :cuss

If often thought that if they banned cars from the roads, we'd have a much better time of it!      :fp

Glad only minor things happened Keith. Hope you get the pleasure of leaving that same cager stranded one day.  Justice!     :wink1

Thanks for sharing.

Cheers, Diesel

Mate, I wish it was a bit chilly here today (41c) and staying the same till next week! (Brock, can we get an emoticon for sweating/melting).
Pity we cannot legislate against 'dickheads', just have to keep eyes open for them and listen to your 'spider sense'. Looks to be nice roads.

 :bl11

 :H   :M

Thanks Brock. :)

It is better if the crappy bit of a ride happens first, as you soon get over it when the rest of the ride is great.

Just walked the dog and its -2 out Brrr.
Think we all know biking can be dangerous but i've never felt more vulnerable lay on the pavement hearing screeching tyres, shook me up quite bad  :( .
Put it down to experience no ride today too much ice. (no emoticon for freezing nads off)
