Title: HID Lighting on a Honda ST1100
Post by: Streak on December 01, 2012, 10:43:06 PM
For those who are thinking of adding extra lighting to your bike, I have just got home from testing my new HID driving lights, and Damn they are fantastic!

It is just pure clear light, I did about 80km worth of back roads and was just brilliant, I don't have diesels flair with the camera, spouting took a couple of shots on the road while I was adjusting the lights how I like them, below is just before I adjusted them out properly, (I somehow deleted the photo of after dammit  :|||| )

Compare that to my low beam  :grin

I have Hella FF50 lights on top with the HIDs in them, and underneath I have some 55 watt floods that I am using to fill the dark spots closer to the bike, all in all was just like riding in daylight, and I don't have the cannons that diesel and TJ have...I have also upgraded my headlight bulbs to the Xenon H4 style bulbs as well, the whiter light is fantastic!

HIDs in the headlight does improve low beam performance, not so obvious on high beam as the pattern lacks penetration..
