Hi All,
I have been riding M/C's for the past 52 years. During that time I have owned 27 different bikes, including 4 ST's (3 1100's and 1 1300) and have accumulated just over 850,000 miles on all of them. I have ridden in every state with exception of Alaska/Hawaii, most of Canada, and Italy, as I was stationed there for 4 years during my Air Force career.
I am very fortunate in that my wife, Carole, also rides her own ST and has for the past 38 years, even b/4 or marriage. She is on her 2nd ST. 03 1100P, and a total of 13 bikes.
I presently ride a 91 ST1100 w/50k miles on it. This past summer I thought it was time to upgrade my 1100 and bought a used low mileage 1300. Had it for 2 1/2 months, put 8k on it and didn't like it. Glad I kept my 91. I currently pull an Aspen Sentry camping trailer behind it. So it's back to what I LOVE the most-the ST1100. I guess after putting in excess of 150k miles on the 3 1100's I've owned, you kinda build that LOVE relationship with 'em.
The reason for joining your group is that I ordered one of your beautiful ST OWNERS OzSTOC.com hats from Graham and he suggested that I take a photo wearing it with my ST, which I will do in the near future.
My wife and I are going to Europe to ride the Edelweiss High Alpine Tour this coming summer but would really like to come to your country for some riding also. I hope to share a good ride report once we return in late July.
We presently live in Granbury, Texas and if any Aussie would like to come to the US to ride, we have 2 ST's that are available, providing we aren't out riding them.

Welcome Caorle and Gary. Like your choice of bike, (the fast one,) but wouldnt Carole find riding on the back a little uncomfortable??? Oh a small tip, even though you seem to have a ton of experience, try putting the side stand up it makes riding so much easier.. :grin :grin :grin :grin

G'Day and welcome to the OzSTOC forum. With your vast touring experience and hundreds of thousands of kilometers on STs, we anticipate that you'll be able to share some tips and advice. In the meantime, join in the conversations.............

Brock,
You should have taken a closer look Wot thuh. We ride our own ST's and the white one is Carole's, look at the pink helmet, and thats her on it with the center stand down, not the side. She was sitting on it for a pic to send to Spencer for his magic on her seat. I ride the black one-you know-the FASTEST!!!!!!!! :grin :grin :grin

Howdy Gaz and Caz!
Thanks for a wonderful introduction of yourselves.
Make sure you give us the heads up if you do get to ride Downunder and we will organise an international RTE and show off some of the 'not to be missed' spots around. Oh yeah - and gor goodness sake - KEEP LEFT!!!
I sure hope one day I'm taking you up on your generous offer of a loaner for a ride around the biggest state and beyond.
Can't wait for the travel pics.
Take care, welcome aboard, and thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Diesel
