I'd only take a few riding tips off this guy if I were you, but an entertaining look at a ST11 none the less.
And the countryside is gorgeous!

Interesting at least. No mention of looking out for emus, goats, kangaroos, camels, bats etc while riding along :think1 and there were a few places with buildings etc that you would have to think 'watch out for the farmer in the ute...' I like the way the screen is changed between various videos.

Thanks Paul - I did sound a little too negative with my words there - for this I apologise. (I actually clicked the "like" button on his vid for the record).
His lane positioning (apexing), basic ride craft, and thought process were very good.
The tips I wouldn't take from him include the straight lining of the bend (many reasons there), and he seems to keep the revs to around 4,500 which, to me, seems a little high. I do, however, ride a 1300 whose torque curves and EMS, and therefore power delivery, could be a little different to the 1100.
I hope this clears up any negativity, as we love seeing videos and pics from England - which was the intention of me initially posting his link.

No way did I see any negativity Diesel I was just wondering that's all.
Straightening the corners I do regular with caution if the view is clear as the rider pointed out it was.
As for the rev's well to be honest I think I probably keep mine higher than most. I like to have the instant woosh available if I need it, last thing I want is to be dropping down gears when I want out of there.
I know the road he's on and I thought his riding looked very smooth .

4500 revs????? thats 135 Ks/hr :eek :eek :eek :eek
I usually ride around in top gear, so thats not an option, I may drop to 3rd, but even then 4500 rpm is pretty quick.

Yeah - it's a great looking road.
You have classes of road over there I believe - depending on their quality of traffic volume (A, B, C etc maybe???)
Can you roughly explain the classes (like - what would a back country lane be classed as?)
And what class would this road be?

Go to Google Maps or Google earth and type in Via Gellia Road, Derbyshire. This is the road the video was taken on,The rider is travelling from the A6 near Matlock heading towards Cromford.
Its an A road, A roads in the UK range from single to dual carriageway, on the whole main roads go from one city to another or through lots of towns, good usually smooth riding, B roads are normally lesser used roads which enable users to get around without using A roads, Motorways are Freeways. The roads in the UK like most countries suffer from neglect and contain the dreaded potholes, asphalt overbanding etc.
The countryside in the UK is something to see and the roads have the right amount of twists and turns to make the shortest ride interesting.
