Title: HID light cutout when on side stand (ST1300)
Post by: Brock on November 28, 2011, 01:31:07 PM
Here is a diagram of a cutout that disables power to the HID light when the side stand is down. As long as your bike is in neutral  (or the clutch is in) and the side stand is down, a relay breaks the power feed to the HID until the side stand is raised.

Parts needed are wire, a 2pin Hitachi style size 110 connector (mating pair) and a SPDT relay (Jaycar Ptno SY4073 ot 4074 would do the trick. The circuit assumes that the side stand switch is closed when the stand is down. (as I dont have a 1300 I cant test it). If this is not the case, then its an easy fix, just move the power feed for the HID to pin 87 instead of 87a

I have used an adapter plug, as i dont like cutting in to wiring as that can introduce problems, and its easy to remove later on.
