Hi All.
I am new to this forum and in fact new to St's. I have just bought a 2002 ST1300 with just 17,000klms on it. It is immaculate and nothing short of senational to ride. I am wondering, as it does not have the electric screen adjuster, has anybody fitted one of these with success and how difficult was it. Any tips would be appreciated.
Hope to catch up with some of you in the future.
Thanks
Tony

Welcome, Tony. We're here to help! :grin
You can find good info on this site:

That's just one of the threads- you can search for others.
It's do-able. Around US$500 for the kit, apparently. :thumb

Thanks for the reply Biggles. I figured it must be able to be done. I am wondering if i could perhaps pick up a kit from a wreck. I will look at this line first and see how i go.
Again - Thanks

Photos are a given. I don't do anything without photos. You never know who will need them.

G'Day, Tony. I did mine last year. A few tips:-
Get cheat sheets on removing most of the tupperware, and use them, including bags for all the fasteners to go in.
Have plenty of room to do it.
Be prepared to do other tasks while you have the tupperware off, ie check the radiator, any other farkles that require removal of panels etc.
Get large rags to wrap all the panels up to avoid scratching.
Order some spare fasteners, such as the plastic and common allenhead bolts for some panels (one of mine was chewed out, and it's easy to break the plastic rivets, both types.
Familiarise yourself with how to remove the 2 rivet types.
Shop around for the parts required. Most of mine came from David Silver in the UK.
Be prepared to get a bit confused with some of the instructions, but take your time and don't rush it.
You might want to actually lengthen some of the wires that attach to the screnn mechanism and the up/down limiting relays.
Put aside more time than you'd think to do it, work out problems etc. I just had an issue with the wire colors for the LH switch block, and it seems the two wires that are the wrong color just need to be reversed (I can find out which ones by looking back at an email I sent).
Take photo's, cause I didn't think of it, and some photos at critical moments might make it easier for the next person to do it!
