Just saw this....looks legit $359 with free freight....

I wouldn't recommend Battlaxe to anyone, my back tyre only did about 6000km before it needed replacing, the front has now done 10,000 and needs to be replaced!

Not much choice Wendy if you wish to remain with 1100 standard rear size. Only other option is Avon.

So far my front is up to 10,500kms and probably has another 2000kms left.
The rear has done just 6000kms and will go at least another 4000kms.

Not for me that one.......I have abs so the front is different, but still a good price if it's local.

The PR3 fits just fine, tho the rear isnt too critical. There is a little difference in the revs for a given speed  with the varying sizes. Its the front that needs to be right for correct speedo reading.

Well I must not do as many burn outs as Wendy  :p,  I have done 10,000km on both my front and back battle axes, at least half that has been 2up so I have been really happy with what I have gotten so far  :thumb

never worn out a battleaxe. but replaced after 6-8k due to uneven ware leaving a ridge that was hard to push bike over and pickup still plenty of tread left though

And Ill add that about half of that use is with towing a trailer which may cause a little more wear on the rear tyre. (so I've been told)

I'm also running these tyres ($435 fitted and balanced from my local tyre bloke, not eBay). I've had about 11,000 out of front and rear so far and they are at about 60% to 70% worn. I've been happy with them.

I'm pretty happy with 023's. They are the only matching tyres I can get here to fit the 1100. I've got pretty good mileage somewhere around 14000 kms before they got too bald. I asked the tyre guy at my local shop about the Avons and he said they had a quite a few warranty claims on them and didn't recommend them.
I stick with the recommended sizes because noone has been able to tell me what effect smaller or larger sizes might have on the ABS or TCS.
I prefer to buy locally, I recently had to get a warranty replacement on a Z6 off the missus' bike due to a leaky bead, would have been a pain to do on ebay.

I got a set for the 1100 (1994) earlier this month (thinking of Middleton).  I did all the transactions over the internet and dealt with Lee from Kelly Rubber (Mackaytrader@Mackaytrader.com)  Two days later they where here.

Hi Guys & Gals,

Been reading this thread and the comments :

My '98 ST1100 (Non ABS) has had most Brands fitted and as I have posted elsewhere -

I now run matched Avon Storm 2 Ultra Tyres :

Front    AV 55 - 110 / 80Z / R18 (58W)
Rear     AV 56 - 160 / 70 / T17 (79V)

Had puncture in REAR at 4,500 kms - DELAMINATED from inside at 15,309 kms - replace with same now 2500 kms

Front has now covered 17,890 kms - probably 3,500-5,000 tread remains - excellent tyre - no complaint from me

Will purchase again - Tyres for Bikes - Albion = Brisbane
