In preparation for the ride to the National Rally I have been doing some extra riding.

(Last week I got a Go Pro (Hero 3 Black edition) for use on the trip and decided to give it a go on one of these rides.)

So I invited Gaz along for a 500+ km ride last Wednesday (06/02/13)

So I loaded the bike as if I was doing the ride to Middleton (just to see what it will be like with the extra gear) the night before and left Strathpine to meet up with Gaz in Caboolture at 06:30.


I set the Go Pro to take a photo every 30 sec while on this trip :eek

A small number of them have been uploaded to a slideshow on YouTube

I also did a little video of each stop (video taken at 720p)

This is my 1st attempt at video editing so don’t be too critical :-[

It was a good fun day :runyay and I'm feeling more confident about the ride to Middleton with the bike fully loaded :thumb

"Shiney things" you did good, I must say I do like that 30 sec intervals on the GoPro, as I don't get motion sickness.

Hopefully more to come (R U trying to cut Diesel out of the business of video stuff, hee hee hee)

The wife (Carrol) is flying down to Middleton.
So I got the Go Pro so she could enjoy some photos and videos of the trip :runyay
I'll post more stuff from time to time I'm sure :thumb

AWESOME vids dude! Gaz looks like he was BORN TO RIDE!!!        :thumbsup


I see how that really brings the viewer along for the ride.


Loved the 30sec time lapse.


Best of all folks, is that Shiney has seen the 2,000 odd km ride to Middleton as an enormous logistical and physical challenge, and is actively working out trials, triumphs and pitfalls to be better prepared. For this - you guys get 10 out of 10!      :thumb

I thought I'd better do something to be better prepared for the ride and it was a good test of the Go Pro :runyay

All up the time laps photos numbered just under 1'000 :eek so I just picked a few for the slideshow, I'm glad everyone liked them :thumb

So far the Go Pro is doing exactly what I wanted, (time laps photos and HD video) I'll post some stuff in the GO Pro section soon :thumbs

if anybody cares :well, i had a Contour :whistle, but i can't do that edit thingy :-[
