Let's see what's workin for us or not!
You might have thought Ma Honda would put a fantastic seat on such a world class long distance sports tourer!
Anyways - all comments welcome. :popcorn

For my Ironbutt attempt - I put the Airhawk over the custom Moorehouse seat as there were plenty of saddle hours with little respite - this worked well, but me thinks I need to revisit JM and get the custom seat softened a little. :eek
This way I will always have a smiling :butt

Mine came modified with a Sadlemen seat after conversion from WAPol. I have since had my bit remodified for better comfort and got rid of the gel seat, it got way too hot. Much better now

I replaced my seat with a saddlemen gel seat in November 2010 after returning back to a much cooler climate than Karratha, WA. Having worked in Port Hedland for 18 months, then two and a half years in Karratha my original seat's leather cracked up with everyday use and some very warm days in excess of 40C plus.
The seat was found at an E-bay store in the USA and cost me about $500AUD delivered to my door. I forget the local Honda dealer price but it was a lot more than that. https://www.saddlemen.com/stealth%e2%84%a2-seat-st-sport-touring-series-honda-1 (https://www.saddlemen.com/stealth%e2%84%a2-seat-st-sport-touring-series-honda-1)

For a little extra touring comfort I made up a sheep skin seat cover.

The new seat is a lot better than the original for both of us. I sit a little lower and have some lower back support while my partner sits a little higher which gives her better visability forwards.
I have yet to try this seat in touring mode as in the last year I haven't done much more than local riding. A few trips to visit family and friends etc. with those averaging 500km return in a day or a weekend. But that may change next year as may have work in Kalgoorlie early next year.

"John Moorehouse, as I have said before. I only have things that work, and I know it works cause my bum smiles when it sits on the bike 8)

I have just got mine back from John Moorhouse and have done about 300 kms on it. John said it would take about 1,000 kms before it was broken in, so far the jury is out, will report back after the 1,000 kms. The wife does like hers though. Trouble is I was spoilt with my last two bikes:-

Poll seems closed, but a Moorehouse for me. Standard 1100 seat seemed quite ok but not until you try a Moorehouse one. Seems to just meld to your butt. Downside is that shifting around doing the sportsbike positioning thing seems to be a bit harder (but as mature riders we don't indulge in that do we!)

can i vote more than once
moderfied moorehouse custom
long trips maybe lambs wool and air hawks
-
I'm seriously considering getting a custom seat. Although I have an Airhawk which is great, I get saddle sore after around 5 hours. It seems though people are either Moorehouse or Corbin and never the twain shall meet.
I'm going to hold off until after the OZSTOC meet and take a look and sit on a few of you guys seats...before I shell out the dollars.

john moorehouse has a garantee thats hard to better
i had the first seat made for the boldor. next the st seat was made. a trip to wagga and a modification was needed. john pulled it apart , shove push rub and more magic , recover# bill - lifetime garentee.
will recomend to anyone
-
I got a Corbin one piece but you can only have it on the low setting.
Think i will send original that was carved out by previous owner off to John for a redoo.
-
Still working on my single seat and when I it have ready i will take it to that guy in brissy to finish of
so at the moment have the but killer still on the bike.

I have a Sargent seat which I customised. It's better than stock but not by much. I managed to score a cheapo ST1300 seat pan from a wreck which I'll be sending to John Moorehouse for some treatment.

We have Russell day long seats after the break in period (about 500 k on short trips)we can't fault them. Trip to the bike show in Sydney and back in a day ( about 600 k) the lovely thinks they're great as do I.
