Over the years and many camping trips I do with my beloved ST13, I have narrowed down the gear I take, and tried to maximise the packing efficiency of the gear by using the smaller, light weight hiking gear.
I have taken pics of the gear to show you what sorts of things are available....
Have a look here....

I have cut down on the size of things over the years. My cooking setup is even smaller and the tent and sleeping bag can be fitted in the panniers or topbox, so can all be locked up. For longer trips one of the Gearsacks came back into duty.

Where do you guys find all this stuff...where did you get you Sleeping bags and Tents from. I was looking at some from Anaconda and they seem heaps expensive

Micro gear is fine for me. I ride both trail and road, (DR650 & ST 1300). I have two different set-ups. It's even more micro for the trail bike than for the road bike. Different tents, sleeping bag and other gear, more tools on the trail bike, same cooking gear for both - and always a First Aid kit.
On the road bike if it's an overnight stay I tend to use Pubs, but if it's two to more nights stay I use Caravan Parks or National Parks. On the trail bike it's usually only a two day ride with overnights in National Parks.
Basically if you're only going to do one night in a month, you can suffer the smaller gear, but it your going to be doing it for long stays or several overnights in succession you need a bit more space in your gear. For example a two man tent is fine for sleeping and your riding gear, but a three man tent allows you to get your panniers in with you as well and you don't feel mummified in your roomier sleeping bag.

I have updated this post now and re-linked the missing pics.

I use our old gearsack in the trailer.
The zip is useless so I use the bag to put all our cooking gear (includes spare butane cylinders).

We have done our fair share of camping with the 4x4 in both swags and our camper trailer, but know when we go camp on the bike our bike camping gear is truly micro.
It's about 5cm x 9cm and has VISA written all over it :nahnah
