Col Glandon, French Alps, Near Collision Fast Cyclist and Honda ST1300 Pan European
Notice the absence of double white lines etc.......
And this one, two way traffic no lane markings at all

In both cases it seems you can use the whole road if safe to do so.........the onus is on the rider/driver.

What? I sat here for 9 mins and 48 secs for no happy ending......... :|||| :|||| :|||| :|||| :well

brave cyclists but good footage

I have come across a few rare roads that have the same markings. Most times they seem to just extend the double lines regardless.

Gotta admit those bicyclists are nervy! I reckon they're up to 80 kph on those downhills.
Not sure I'd like to live in some of those houses right next to the road.
It shows how over-regulated we are. Coming in to the villages all there is by way of signs is the name. No 80, 50 signs. One deduces their accident rate isn't higher than ours. Common sense seems to prevail- their drivers will pull out in front of you just as willingly as ours do. You just have to ride defensively.

According to Derek who shot the vid those kamikazi cyclists were hitting 50mph without peddling. >:()
