Accidents like that sometimes happen as an owner approaches retirement and no buyers can be found.
Definitely not saying this is the case here.
Damn shame, as old pubs like that are often the social hub for a lot of locals.

Ive lost count of the number of times ive stopped at that pub for a drink and a stretch. I think you and I have stopped there once or twice too.
Shame, it was a popular place, especially on sundays, when it was full of bike riders testing their mettle on the m'bah Kyogle road.

Evenin' All...
Your spot on Laurie...could smell it just as we rode into Uki this morning and couldn'e beleive my eyes :-[...sure it'll be rebult , but somehow I don't think it'll be the same.
...had a great ride back to the GC this morning Mate, came straight through without stopping for 'smoko' at Nimbin : o:)...roads a little bumpy but my pillion made no complaints so all good on the domestic front :thumb.
How long has the Lismore - Nimbin road been 80KPH! In fact it's all 80 right the way through to about 10 clicks from Mulwilumbah :||||
Do NOT ever complain about road conditions...EVER! ...They'll only mend them, string up countless kilometres of 19mm wire rope barriers, add a thouand meaningless warning signs...and then reduce the flammin' limit!!!
Cheerio The can :-)

‘Minding the Beer fridge until next time’
...still managed to get in 900km in-between the 15” of rain and numerous flooded roads, including a run South (a first), along the Lions Rd through a few showers at the border and a couple of new ‘roads’ around the Clarence River (Iluka , Yamba), all courtesy of Barry, Marissa and Laurie. Thanks People. :beer

Hey Dick, I am in Melbourne at the moment but did not know where you were wandering. When are you home as leaving Saturday?
-
Looks like the boys did a good job in saving what they saved. Usual the timber pub goes to the ground. Most of the superstructure is still in place although completely gutted.
We say in the industry that that was a good save although a total loss. To Fireies stumps is a total loss.
But sad to see an old girl go.
