When are we going to wake-up to the fact that we are slowly-but-surely being invaded.
I have no problems with people coming her for a better life (as I did) but they MUST respect that we like paradise just the way it is and don't want it changed (with a few exceptions and Governments).

With the ideas / laws, that Biggles reported in his posting here, just a couple of days ago I received an email from an Expat in Sai Gon, another Australian, (and of course a bike rider also) outlining how the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, feels about things in an address he gave to the Duma on 4th February this year about the tensions with minorities in Russia.
Vladimir Putin, quote : -
" In Russia live Russians. Any minority, from anywhere, if it wants to live in Russia, to work and eat in Russia, should speak Russian, and should respect the Russian laws.
If they prefer Shari'ya Law, then we advise them to go to those places where that's the state law. Russia does not need minorities.
Minorities need Russia, and we will not grant them special privileges, or try to change our laws to fit their desires, no matter how loud they yell 'discrimination'.
We had better learn from the suicides of America, England, Holland and France, if we are to survive as a nation.
The Russian customs and traditions are not compatible with the lack of culture or the primitive ways of most minorities.
When this honorable legislative body thinks of creating new laws, it should have in mind the national interest first, observing that the minorities are not Russians. "
The politicians in the Duma gave Putin a standing ovation for 5 minute +
Added to the bottom of this email was - Quote :-
" I, myself and most Australians would stand applause for at least 20 minutes if our Prime Minister would address the Australian people this way. AND THAT'S THE WAY IT SHOULD BE ! "
For my own personal 2 cents worth, replace the words 'Russia' or 'Russian', with 'Australia' or 'Australian' and I'd agree 110%. :thumbsup
:clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :butt
Although, it's often been said I tend to stand way, way, way off to the right of Atilla the Hun with some of my political views. :-(((
Being born in South Australia, and Jewish as well, with a Vietnamese wife - - - guess that makes me a 'racist' as well :'( Just asking what the &*#% is happened to Australia these days ??? >:()
The interesting thing I observed, is although this was a public speech, made openly in the Russian parliament and widely reported in the media around the world, there was NO MENTION, NO QUOTATIONS, NO REFERENCES AT ALL in the Australian media. :-X
Now just why is that ??? :well Has Australia become a nation of whimps ? :o Too scared to say what we might think or feel in OUR own country ??? :spank

Hear Hear!! The minorities need Australia- Australia does not need minorities! The country was going along splendidly before the Middle Eastern sea invasion. We absorbed the Vietnamese boat people and they have fitted in fine (and do better restaurant food than the Chinese).

Biggles - :-++ :-++ :-++ :thumbsup
:'( :'( :'( you've made me remember just how great a lot of the restaurants in Sai Gon are - when you know where to find them :eat And how low the prices are there as well !
(can of coke = 30 cents. bottled pure drinking water = 20 cents. 5 course dinner for 4 adults = change out of $50)
NOW, just try to guess who it was who got kicked off and banned from Yahoo7 news blogs here in good old freedom loving Oz ? For daring to send them Putin's speech and asking why they didn't report it in the media here in Oz ? :cuss :|||| :spank :spank :spank ( when this was being talked about openly on Yahoo VN ! :whistle )
Question - Just what is a 'POLICE STATE' ??? Perhaps it's somewhere that the individual person cannot express their own views openly ? :well
ANSWER - It's any country where the government or the media can actively suppress, block, ban, anything and ensure that only their own 'spin' on the news is acceptable for publication.

:rofl :rofl :rofl
Capitalism is alive and doing VERY nicely in Viet Nam thank you very much ! :beer
Sai Gon does have the most expensive and I'm told, the best restaurants in Viet Nam.
Most of the better ones (for European/Australian/NZ/American/Canadian imported foods) are over priced compared to other places around the city.
The VN owners know exactly what the Expats, and the better off VN business people, like in the way of foods/drinks, how they like it prepared and served up so the price goes up accordingly. :grin
How else can the restaurant owner afford his / her villa plus the nice, new Mercedes / BMW / Porsche / Audi / Bentley (200% import tax and only new cars permitted to be imported) and send their kids to private schools at the same time ? :wink1
