Hi guys. Found this site late one night and figured this is a much better place to be than studying OHS. :thumbs
Proud owner of a '96 ST 1100 Police configured. Single seat (Wife's not that impressed)
This my 3rd Honda. The first was a new CB 500 I bought when I lived overseas, the second was a much used, but faithful 900cc Bol D'dor, and now the 1100.
Just gets better!
Longest trip so far was Perth to Bris after I quit a job over there. I bought an ex cop 650 Yamaha (Gasp) and cruised home. I'm only sorry I didn't take longer. :)
Looking forward to catching up and joining the events and breakky runs.
-
Greetings from the mighty west, enjoy your time in here.
-
Thank you, sir.
Grew up in the West in the - a while ago time. Subiaco, Sth Perth Como. Farming at Williams 'til I join the Army. Lived back there in the '70's and '80's south of the river. There are days when I wished I'd stayed. :)

Welcome to the zoo Rex.
Diesel, can we claim Rex as a 'Westy' seeing as he grew up here (We're starting to lag behind in the World Championships) ?

Good to have another Queenslander on board, and another ST1100 is a bonus to!
look forward to catching up with you around the traps
cheers

Thanks guys.
Better add I was born in Kingaroy, and also spent time as a kid living in Adelaide.
And Streak, I know Toowomba's weather so well. Many, many, roadtrain hook-ups at night, in the wet, (always sideways rain - Why??) and always late! :)
-
HI Rex and a Warm Welcome from the Wild West :hatwave :runyay
:grin :blk13 :grin
-
welcome Rexj, enjoy your time on the forum :beer

G'day from the Far North.. :beer

Hi Rex, welcome to the lunatic asylum. Great bunch of blokes here and always good fun trips out, and if you need to know anything about your baby there's some-one here that can tell you...maybe even about your bike too!! :crackup :crackup
Enjoy!!
-
Thanks Whizz. Thankfully my two 'babies are over 22, and wash their own nappies. :)
Love to catch up and have a yak about 'das machinen'. (sorry, can't Japanese - other than maybe Toyota, Itchy Bitchy and Yamaha,ha,ha)
It's in pretty good nick, just needs a tidy up. I'd like to get the dual seat and proper carrier for the top pannier.
Thought about coming up the range for a ride and a coffee sometime soon.

Howdy Rex. Seems like you might just fit in :beer

I second that motion :thumb

G'day Rex, welcome to the forum :hatwave

Mate, I don't think there will be another Bakery Run for a while because everyone (except me of course!) is off to SA for the Annual Powow. I was going but got a new job so taking 2 weeks off 1 month into the new venture would be somewhat frowned on I fear. Not sure who else in this area ISN'T going to Middleton, but maybe we can organise something for those of us NOT going down south...any takers? Let me know and maybe we'll get something going!.
:thumbs :thumbs
-
Welcome Rex from another Toowoomba ite
Hopefully catch up for coffee & chat when we can
We meet up at Esk Bakery a lot as they are one of our major sponsors
A big Welcome :hatwave :hatwave :hatwave
:beer :beer
-
Thanks for the welcome people.
Getting together sounds like a great idea. I guess those who don't go to the big meet should get together and toast the day whilst they're gone.
I'm not working at present (only because I'm unemployed) so any day is good for me. Having said that I'm at an On Campus study week in Mackay for a week from the 18th.
My wife's away next weekend :eek so if anyone's free 14th, 15th? Coffee is a serious reason to ride someplace, right? :)
-
Coffee is a serious reason to ride someplace, right? :)
Almost correct. One needs not a reason to ride, merely a destination (even that isnt really necessary), that one can fin coffee food and friends there is a bonus..
:grin :grin
Some of us in WA, recently did a short 800k round trip for lunch..
-
Must have been a hell of a good lunch, Brock.
-
Hey BikeBear, How far north is your north? What puddle, sorry, town do you park yourself?
-
Sunny..at the moment...Cairns.
-
Didn't some erudite bod once say that you don't actually need a destination merely a direction to make it a ride worthwhile? If so I think I'd agree with him!
OK Rex, you have me confused. you say "My wife's away next weekend :eek so if anyone's free 14th, 15th?" ...in my calendar 14th and 15th are Thursday and Friday and you're of to Cairns on 18th so presumably you're flying up Sunday 17th...so how's about a ride out on Saturday the 16th??? Anyone up for a weekend trundle? I'll put this in the Rides section as well., so go there to respond.
:beer :popcorn
-
Dear confused. :grin Try again. My wife will be away on the night of 15th, Fri, Sat 16th, back A M Sunday.
I'm off to MACKAY on Mon 18th to Thurs 21st PM.
Ergo I can ride free Fri 14th to Sun 16th.
Is that more betterer clearer? :think1
And you're right - who needs a reason for a ride. I got the urge to ride after this mornings yaks here, so I bought a couple of coffees en route to her ladyships office and wasted some company time with her.
This evening she reciprocated by sharing a couple of Perona's at our local Alfresco joint. Nice. :wink1
-
Mate, read your last post carefully, whilst you are correct about Monday being the 18th, that makes Sunday the 17th, not the 16th as in your post...that also makes Friday the 15th not the 14th... and you call me confused!!??? :rofl :rofl
-
Now I'm cornfusedd
:eek :eek :CB--
-
>:() OK. :think1 I can see I'm going to have to redeem myself from this with coffee and bikkies. :crackup Let's forget the days. I'm free from whenever I get out of bed on the 14th, 15th, & 16th.of March. 'Owszat?
-
That's good!! :thumbsup
-
Wizz and Rex
Now that all the confusion is sorted out. :rofl I'm available Saturday 16th for morning coffee or early lunch as I start work in Toowoomba at 3.00 PM. And on Sunday 17th I start work at 4.00PM so a little bit more flexable
:beer. Thats right 0 Limit so no Beer only coffee
-
Welcome Rex, I haven't been around the forum as much as I'd like lately. I'm normally on here shit stiring. BikeBear claims to be from the far north, but OzRider and I are significantly further north :)
It sounds like you'll fit right in here, just beware of Brock and his big stick and norty corner :butt
-
Welcome RexJ. If I don't have to take the family waterskiing AND if the weather is fine, I might just catch up with Whizz and his merry men on the 16th while the moderators are out of town. I'm north of the big smoke so I'll have to pack lunch and a compass just to make it to the meeting point. :popcorn
Cheers.
Skip
-
Hi Wendy,
Big stick? Have to keep my secret macho tendencies in check.
Gee, I've never heard of anyone with a bike shitstirring before. You must be very talented. :wink1
Good evening Skip. Nice to meet. Look forward to catching up.
-
Hi Skip, it'd be a pleasure to get together again and it isn't that far from civilisation, I promise!
Dugandan Pub is a good venue, as long as the weather is good!. What do you reckon?
:beer :eat :popcorn :beer ...what more do we need??
-
Hey Whizz. Yeah I've been there. Top spot and a nice ride to boot. I'm under a bit of pressure to take the family water skiing. I was hoping Somerset was still closed but they re-opened it on Saturday. :fp Too many toys. I'm trying to convince them that the water will be dirty and a bit of crap still floating around in it. Probably won't commit myself either way until Friday night. :well I am so handin' out for a ride.
Hope to see all the 'workers' at Dugandan as all the 'retirees' are interstate. :rofl
Watch this space.
Cheers.
Skip.

That's because you guys are up in the square bit of the country, where BB and I are in the pointy bit, and we all know when it comes to shapes, what's important..... :rockon

Hi Sabie,
I know your part of the boxing ring. I used to work for that cane farmer in Tully who has all the big white Tonka Trucks on the main road. :eek (The elite section no one hardly ever saw) 8)
