Excluding collectables, and helmets with nostalgic value, how often do you replace your main-use helmet?
-
Usually 2-3 yrs due to chin strap wear.
-
We bought our current ones in 2009 sometime. Still quite good but we're planning on at least a new one for me late this year and Heather next year.
-
The WA Police replace their helmets every 2 years (or they did upto a couple of years ago anyway) due to being worn every day and in all weather's.
I believe that the standard is approx 5 years so that's what I'll be doing.

I'm on my 4th helmet in 8 years

I probably replace my helmet every three years.
-
Mine only gets used on the weekends and holidays ,so 5 years is ok.I always buy really good ones average price $900.
-
I change mine when it does not fit properly any more, sully around the 2-3 year mark
-
If I made a good choice about 3 years of average wear.....but a bad choice years ago made it halfway through its second ride. Even my Shark Evoline2 got replaced halfway home from Middelton when it only 2 years old.
