Streak,
I'll be coming weather permitting. Is Diesel still leading the charge from the BP or is his bike still in bits?

I gave Diesel a call tonight since he's nursing a badly bruised head from banging it against the wall.
The alternator rewind experts wound it as if it's a 6 volt bike. I have no conception how you would do that, since there are no modern bikes that I am aware of that run 6 volts. So he's still waiting for the part to come back to the Honda workshop, and then however long they take to install it. Then he has to get her dressed again- can't be having naked "STellas" loose in the countryside! :eek
He's not optimistic, but after what he's been through with this biz, he's fully entitled to expect the worst. Unbelievable incompetence! :-(((

That'd be right. I put up an early notice that I'm going and you make up some excuse that you can't attend. Huff.
I'm sure we will catch up again Harie. Been a long time though.
Cheers mate.

Is anyone else working on a contingency plan if Diesel does't show up at the BP ?

Hi Skip,
Here is the link to diesel's route.

How does it compare with yours.
TJ (maybe)Streak, you must have missed my hand up from yesterday. Sean

9:30 at BP northbound sounds civilised.
Rendezvous definitely not the forecourt. Not sure what RH side park means. There's a handy spot up the end of the Food Hall near the gazebo that's out-of-the-way but handy to pick up a coffee etc.
Maybe the weather is going to co-operate. Just the possibility of a shower- like today, really.
Only a small group at this stage, but it's still good... my first outing in a month or so. Recovery pretty much accomplished.
AND there's my three grand posts. Without resorting to a single post comprising a solo emoticon. :grin
A beautiful sun-shiney day for a nice country ramble.
Five riders met at the aforesaid BP and were capably led off by Skip. His search today for kangas was frustrated by busy traffic, although he did try his luck in some remote bush.
Up the slab to the Kilcoy turnoff, then onto the Beerburrum road. Missed the Lookout turnoff (there's a reason for that name, Skip) and onto the Steve Irwin Way. Thankfully the cages were moving well. Left through Beerwah and up the twisties to Peachester. Yes, you guessed it- a slow caravan was on cue to ruin a great run. She pulled over at the top :|||| having ignored a number of earlier opportunities. Onto the Stanley River road and a right at the Maleny turnoff. All familiar to me so far, but Skip knew one I didn't and took us out along the Reesville Road. Great country windy road ridden at a pace to allow a good look at the scenery. Back through ever-busier Maleny and down through Landsborough, across Ewan Maddock dam and up to Mooloolah's Thunderbird Cafe for early lunch.
Great to see Diesel there chatting with Gadget. There was the passing mention of alternators, rewind experts, delays, a new-found love of LED driving lights. Maybe more than one mention... :whistle

Roll-call: Youngone, Gadget, Skip, Sean, TJ, Diesel and Biggles. Note 100% STOC shirt turnout.
Your scribe led the riders back via the switchback to Landsborough, then via the Old Gympie Road to Beerburrum and on to the slab via Caboolture north. Great scenery again, riding alongside Mt Tibrogargan and Mt Coonowrin.
Only 214 kays for me, but fantastic to be back in the saddle.
I was wondering when Biggles would get round to the size of my er lunch.
After all it was a Ride To Eat.
I rode and I was eating!!!
Apart from the ribbing I had a fantastic day, thanks to everyone.

Great morning outing and quite a nice destination too.
Good write up Biggles, but you forgot to mention 100% ST1300 turnout as well with the ST1100's being a no-show. :grin :whistle
Even better for me was a quick chat over the wide number of issues covered this morning was a question from me regarding my no longer functioning Cruise Control (after a rear tyre repair by Tyres for Bikes :|||| a common problem with them apparently :||||) came up with an immediate response from Tony that he knew what the problem was and could show me in 30 seconds how to fix it. :runyay :runyay :runyay
True to his word he showed me the culprit was the pickup unit on the left rear of the bike was too far from the wheel (supposed to be 1.8 to 3 mm from the magnets) I could fit a finger in the gap. A quick adjust and all is working well. :runyay :hatwave :rockon Tony, you're a champion.
Goes to prove there is no such thing as a stupid question and OzSTOC comes through again. :thumbsup
Cheers,
Gadget
