And while on the subject of electronically adjustable suspension, here are two contenders.

The BMW model was one of the new bikes I looked at before I got the 1100........

Having test ridden the Vfr 1200 I think the st 1300 is a much nicer ride
I'm not sure what Honda really thinks of their customers when the 1200 were introduced to us punters at about 26 K on the road and today Cmc canberra are selling a brand new one for 16990 ride away I pity the poor bastard that paid full price
-
Not to mention what Honda thinks of its loyal ST1300 owners when they tell them the VFR1200 is its replacement (or so one Dealer tried to tell me).

Thanks for the link Saaz, that was a good read. I'm glad that Triumph are doing well. Wouldn't it be nice if Triumph opened a plant in Oz and begaon making an Oz bike

Reading that it looks like Honda will be losing ST13 owners to the Triumph Sprint.
It's not so much about the ST lasting for hundreds of thousands of kays. It's about riders wanting to upgrade to newer technology now and then, just as the ST11 gradually introduced ABS and TCS then gave way to the ST13 with bigger panniers, digital screen (don't get me started) and powered windscreen.

Not much between the two bikes but then there's not much that would cause me to buy either of them over my 1100.

I think the ST11 and ST13 for the money you can get a good one second hand are a more than affordable option. At the recent list price of $25k the ST13 was a bit of an ask. The runout price more closely reflected the $US price, so imagine how many more would have been sold if that was the normal price.

When the ST13 was $25k onroad, the Trophy looked like a serious contender to me as it had standard a lot of the extras I added. But with runout pricing happening, I am seriously debating whether I should forget the Trophy, and take advantage of the pricing and get a new ST even though my current steed only has 114k on it. The catch is a lot of the extras would still need to be added and if new price is down, you can guess what happens to trade-in or re-sale
