Hi all.
Came across these on Ebay (and was wondering what people thought about them, if anyone had them and would you buy theem. Looking for a reasonable cost effective solution to a bit of numbness in my right hand.
Thanks in anticipation.
Tony.

esstee hi again,
I had the same problem with numb tingling wrist as well.
I installed Oxford heated grips (Heaterz $110) from the UK, which are a must for cool / cold weather imho.
I then purchased foam grips to go over the heated grips. This takes the minor vibrations away, still allows the heat to come thru, but mostly increases the diameter of the grip giving you a more comfortable control, especialy if you hands are large like mine.
I also have HeliBar risers ($130 Mick Hone Suzuki,is the dealer in Box Hill) and a Vista Lock throttle controller.
Also with the larger grip diam, I dont have to "grip" as hard and can just rest on the grip lightly.
All contribute to erogonomics.
hope this helps

Tony, I had those same grips on my GSX1400 and whilst they do not lock the throttle in position, they do allow you to use your palm to hold the throttle whilst you strech your hand. The increased grip size does also help, but I ended up getting rid of them and installing a Kaoko throttle lock cause I had real issues with cramp in my right hand.
I would personally go the Kaoko bar end throttle lock for my ST (when I do get one!!)

I have them on my 1100 but I had to modify the throttle to fit as I still wanted my bar end and also had to move the clutch + switch block and that involved redrilling the locating hole on the the underside of the bars,
I also managed to fit my throttle lock with a fare bit of fine grinding.
Yes I am happy with the result as a combination of carpel tunnel and Arthur Ritus all around the thumb makes a lot of discomfort with out them.
You will not be able to use heated grips with them.

Hi Esstee - keep in mind that you need DIFFERENT INSIDE DIAMETER grips....
This is due to the throttle cyclinder....
See here.... http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=2695.msg27293#msg27293 (http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=2695.msg27293#msg27293)

Thanks to you all for your advice. Graham, i used to use those in another lifetime on a trusty old V4 750 Honda and they were awesome. They had completely slipped my mind. Zev, I am still considering heated grips. Not sure at this point but bike already has Helirisers on it. Biggles, i will look a little more in to the Kaoko and decide whether i go that way or use a Vista type throttle lock. Tipsy, you have convinced me to look elsewhere as i am not prepared to do all of that. And Diesel, thank you for your words of wisdom. I had no idea they were different sizes.
Once again fella's, thanks for all your advice.

I put these on and they're great. No need to replace your handgrips

I'm also using the MCL handgrip covers and agree they are very helpful :thumb

Hi Tony, You could also consider the Cramp Buster (http://www.crampbuster.com/) either instead of, or in addition to the grips you're looking at. They're simple, cheap, and take the tension out of the right hand and arm.
They come in 2 diameters (the smaller one is for the standard ST grip, the bigger one for Harleys, etc., and probably the slip-ons), and 2 widths. I found the wider one too wide - impeding my ability to roll-off and grab the brake. The smaller one is good. However, with my meat-hooks I shaved a bit off the edge to make them slightly narrower again.
Now, I don't like riding at all without it. I contemplated spending the $$ on a cruise control for the trip from Perth to Middleton, but opted for similarly simple GoCruise (http://) throttle lock. I only use that to allow me to get my hand off the grip for a minute or so every now and then, but the CrampBuster is what made the trip possible. I highly recommend this product.

Hi Tony, I totally agree with Rob's comments above. You can't go wrong with a Crampbuster and a throttle lock.

Throttle lock is enough for me. It's on as soon as I get out of the town area.
