I have a bad habit of, after a ride, I either, just want off it or I can't be bothered.
Either way I always have to fill up before heading off on a ride which always annoys me at the time.
-
9/10ths of the time I fill up on the wa home as there is a bp around the corner, but the times I don't, I am bloody annoyed at myself as I am either running late or just simply not wanting to get on and off in the space of 5 mins...

Usually on the way home, or if not then, before I go. :crazy
-
Way to sit on the fence there StinkyPete
hahaha
-
Usually when it's needed if just riding around the local area.
If I need to leave town before the dicounted fuel place opens in the morning then I'll fill the night before
-
Two reasons for "before I go away".
The first is to get a Start Docket if it's a FarRide or IBA ride.
The second is because, Like Marcus, when I'm headed for home I'm not interested in stopping.
BUT, like Pete, I'll sometimes fill the evening before a big ride, especially if I have a big-value docket about to expire or if the price is so low I think it might go up overnight.

Whenever it starts
winking blinking at me....... >:()

cant believe you buggers voted for candy :crackup

Normally use 98RON so don't wish to have a tankful go off by leaving it full sitting in the shed if next ride is more than a week or two away.....so tend to just get it home, with bare minimum in the tank to get me started the day before a ride....only have to ride 50 metres to fill up.
Cheers

I fill up when she needs it. But if she's low before heading out I'll fill her up.

If anything Chris, I'm the opposite when it comes to if I know I'm not riding for a while.
Fill the tank.......less room for air in the tank.........less chance of condensation in the tank.....
....less chance of getting water in the fuel. :wink1
Theory learnt from the old flying days. It sounded plausible at the time!
Cheers!

Like Sabie, if it needs juice, it gets filled, or else the night before a big ride
-
And speaking of "filled", it's filled to the brim so
1. I can keep accurate consumption figures
and
2. I can go as far as possible before having to fill again.
Did I ever answer my own question about that little tube on the LH side of the filler on ST13s?
It drains to the ground, so a max fill should lap the filler, but not run over it.
And yes, I know the manual says to not fill the tank neck. I'm still waiting to find out why that's a problem.

I'm with Sabie and Blueheeler.

I do the same.........
It's not really a problem if you fill up and keep riding. But if you fill up and leave it for a few days or more the fuel can heat up (warm to hot days) and expand. The recommended fuel level leaves an air space for fuel expansion.
-
I fill it to the brim and ride
otherwise I put twenty bucks in until I need a fill fill
-
99% of the time the day before i go
-
Most of my riding is to work and back (approx. 40km/day) so i wait for the fuel light to come on, then fill up
-
as most riding to work at a very long distance of 7 klms and thats each way too :rofl . :fp anyway i fill up when needed but when im going on a day ride i fill up early in the morning before the ride also checking tyre pressures and other fluids
-
Usually on the way home, otherwise when the gauge starts to blink :grin
