It all started innocently trying on new helmets. All the best intention's. Go for a ride and look in the bike shops. How simple is that :whistle.
You know I almost got out the door unscathed...then it happened and well the rest is history now. Tuesday last I bought home an 03 ST. A Pup according to Diesel.
Traded a bike I never really liked so smiles all round. Had a nice wet trip home and spent half the night just looking at it. It's lovely. knocked out a casual 500 km today doing some recon.
I recognize a few names in here from FarRiders...So G'day to you guys and Hi to everyone else.
And I still have my TDM.

Welcome Chris, got a run on to Ebor on the 6th of July if you wish to meet the troupes on a RTE.

July sounds good. I'll keep an eye on that Chris.
Not too sure anymore ST's for our lot. Tony is glued to his FJR, and Cape only just got the wing...but Garry needs a new toy maybe an CTX?

G'Day TJ :thumbs thanks again for that little problem you helped us with.
G'Day Alan great roads in SA. Its one of my favorite places to tour. How's things StinkyPete?

G'day. I see you finally got your IBA number- I seem to recall some tears over on FR forum about that.
I lived in Barraba from 1972 to 1979, so know that area well.
Good to see you've finally got a proper FR bike. Welcome to the fray.
-
The IBA issue was sorted after a long and frustraiting 28 month period for the three of us that rode together. Guys like TJ and Crappy gave us help at the end and their direct input fixed our problem.
Some others from that ride gave up which I think is a shame because I know what it meant to them too. It needs to be remembered that the ride was to celebrate the life of one of Australia's great long distance riders.
That ride was worth loosing some forum "skin" for Biggles. That ride went well further than the destination if you know what I mean.
We'll know in another 100,000 km if this bike is as good as the TDM for FarRides and further. The TDM suits the mad in me...maybe the ST will give me some class >:()
Barraba has gone down hill since the mine closed and even worse now the chalk mine has shut down. Its a town for cheap rent and I would say half the population is from the bottom of some other barrel.
The location and surrounding areas are attractive and great rides on and off the tar. Old money town Barraba. I live north of the place. Wife deals in Bingara and deal at Barraba which gives us something to talk about at meal time.

Greetings from far off Siam (for a little while longer).

Siam :crazy.... "The king and I"...was that in Siam?
-
G'day Gatey - glad to hear your delight in the STeed. Welcome aboard the good ship OzSTOC, and feel free to tap into the freely available opinions of the brains trust with regards to your new ride - the life, the universe and everything!
There's plenty of info also in the ST1300 Workshop Section with regards to rmoving plastic, oil filters, tyres and maintenance.
N.E. way, enjoy, and thanks for the intro.
Cheers, Diesel

Welcome Gatey. I hope you enjoy your time here with us.

Correct,
The King and I was based on old Siam. (Because of that movie, Yul Bryner was banned from ever visiting Thailand. He had alife long reservation at the Bangkok Hilton to look forward to if he ever visited)

One of those yellow ones? going door to door begging for rice?
Nah. Can't visualise it. No :beer Ferget it!

He's always dressed like that at home (I've seen the pictures, honestly), it's only when he's out in public that he puts his Santa wig on and dresses like a human.
