Just back onto a bike after a few years hiatus - sold my '81 GS1000G (had since new) a few years ago because it wasn't really 'family friendly'. Kids now grown, and recently separated so that no longer forms part of my life's equation.....Picked up a black '96 ST1100 today.
I'm 6' 3" with an inseam of 36". Initially will have some issues on long rides with knees hitting fairing (long thighs but also long arms) so will scallop the seat a wee bit. I think I'll probably end up with a taller screen as well....Will be taking things slowly initially but hope to hook up with Ulysses guys or similar eventually. Will be doing some motorcycle camping with my daughter and son (at different times of course - the bike's big but it doesn't cater for three without a chair on!) but just looking forward to starting to mix in with people of the same mind.
Am also into sea kayaking, sailing, road and mountain biking (have toys for all of those activities), and play drums in a rock band. Issue will be trying to fit in all my activities now!! :think1 Will require good planning I think - but at least it will make sure I'm not hanging around the house on weekends!
Cheers all.

PS: my handle comes from the fact that I originally signed up to the American ST Owners site and there was already a 'Griff' being used! Figured that at least *some* of them would know where a Kiwi was from... :wink1

Thanks Rob and Marcus. I do speak 'Strine by the way.....have a brother on the Gold Coast (Nerang) who's been there since 1983. He's one of you now. Tours on a KLR650 but it's not his fault - he was forced onto it after a string of road bikes he rode kept falling out from underneath him. He reckons there's not much difference touring off road than on road for some of your secondary roads! :-)
