Title: Hello from Llangothlin
Post by: Odyssey Rider on April 21, 2013, 10:24:00 PM
Some might know where this is, many have probably been thru it and blinked and don't remember where it was..... I live there in a little village (Llangothlin) 50k north of Armidale on the New England Hwy. My name is Steve up front with Pamela sharing the ride. Currently i am looking for an ST wether very low k's 1100 or 1300. My current ride for the past few Odyssey's is my Kwaka GTR 1000 which has seen some great adventures however going to a 1400 in my opinion would not be an upgrade hence my long time admiration of the ST Series has been re-ignited.
I sometimes tow a trailer and luv to just ride and camp, wake up and ride again. Looking forward to the camaraderie that my riding friend Chris - ST2UP is enjoying

Welcome Steve....great username, now to make the package complete.......can see a good old GTR 1000 being sat around the the back of the shed with a tarp over.....or a trike conversion perhaps !!!

Getting a few members up in the Tablelands now.....Woo Hoo !!

Cheers

Chris

With that Forum name you're probably not going to get an 1100.   :p

You're in good hands if ST2Up is your mentor.  Hope you get the ST soon.  Like Chris says- chuck a fit and get it!  There are some good value STs for sale most of the time.

Hi Steve & Pamala   :beer
Welcome to this great Forum from Toowoomba in Sunny Queensland
I must have blinked or had a micro sleep as I don't remember Llangothlin
or is it that little place with servo on left hand side travelling south ?
We usually duck into the Caltex servo near airport at Armidale for fuel when touring south

Llangothlin is 10 k's North of me at Guyra on the New England and yep little independent servo on the left. Llangothlin gets colder than even Guyra.....if you beleive thats possible.

Cheers

I must have been awake then, you ride through these little places not know there name unless you are looking for it or you have run out of fuel. But that wouldn't happen on a St1300 with 29 litres.

My current ride for the past few Odyssey's is my Kwaka GTR 1000

Steve
My previous bike was also a Kawasaki GTR1000 which was a good bike but now I am loving the ST1300

Welcome Pamela and Steve,

Good luck with your ST search. Chris (ST2UP) is a nice bloke (when asleep) but Jean is lovely all the time  :rofl. Your got good riding partners there.

See you on the road.

Cheers
Dave

So has the 1100 already been traded?  where and what details about the 1100, could be worth a trip to have a look

Welcome Steve, from another who's not long been on board.

LLangothlins in the country I love touring through. Few places nicer than the New England.

Few machines as good as the ST.

Welcome steve.  I must have gone through Llangothlin not long ago coming back from Maryborough. I remember Guyra (just!) so perhaps it was because it was early in the morning.  I usually remember more unusual names.  And I think we may have reached our quota on red bikes for Ozstoc  :hatwave

Hi OR.

You may find the ST1100 very much in the same vein at the GTR1000 in that she is well equipped, super reliable, handles faultlessly and has plenty of herbs to overtake or cross some decent amounts of country.

Thanks for the intro and I hope to see you round some time.

Cheers, Diesel

Hey Steve
I sold a set of original Belstaffs to a bloke, I think his name was Chris, he lived in Llangothlin and spoke irreverently of the infamous Guyra Hway gentry.I know they used to be red hot there back in the 70's. I am placing a deposit on an St1300 today, have a few problems riding the vfr these days. So I hope there is room for one more red one.
