Ouch! It's because they are all on the wrong side of the road!
All it takes is a moment's inattention.

I hate hearing the sound of locked up brakes behind me. On the bike you might survive by keeping to the side of always being ready to get out of the way. Happened to a mate years ago, and he got out of the way - luckily we had done a rider training course weeks before so still had good habits!

I was shunted from behind many years ago (1973). I couldn't get far enough out of the way, there was a Melbourne tram right in front of me. It wasn't much fun! I've always been cautious in those situations. It it could easily have been much worse than it was. The bloke who hit me was accelerating at the time, so there was no screeching of tyres. He went on to hit the tram, but I fortunately was pushed out of the "firing line".

Agreed...but I thick that this Chap gets the nob for remaining cool (albeit confused), under pressure :wink1

Nearly got shunted by an eight tonne truck the day after I got the bike. Made me think a bit.
