ANYONE travelling on the Putty for the next 3 weekends, make sure your bike is "fully legal".
No HID headlamps, no Staintunes without baffles, no driving lights without cut-off switching.
Make sure any attachments are attached to the manufacturers tie down points.
All auxiliary tanks MUST be certified by an engineer.
Ensure that your helmet has the Australian Standards Sticker on it.
Oh! and Ox.....you are only allowed TWO additional auxiliary lights. :x
They ain't out to grab speeders as such, but they are designated as "defect finders" while up there.
9 patrol cars are listed to "blitz" the road for another 3 weekends - and their priority is bikes.
And DO NOT OVERTAKE a yellow ute where you ain't supposed to, and make sure it is at the POSTED speeds.
Other than that, enjoy your ride!

I'll be there in the cage as the son wants to come along and doesn't want to be a pillion, BUT, with some Ozstoc brotherly and sisterly love at Grey Gum we may be able to start a small change with his thinking.
NOTE: need to remind "blueheeler".
Cheers
Dave

Hi Dave,
After 3 months with the bike off the road due to a stuffed alternator, today I managed to fire her up, the new alt was doing what it should and I even managed to get the swing arm back on all by my lonesome......I'm so proud of myself. :hatwave
Anyways, I'm hoping to get it on the road and tested by Wednesday and give myself a few days to ensure all the nuts and bolts are nice and tight.
So all going well :thumbs I might bring my son along as well, he's 17 and in year 11.
I'll give an update by Wednesday on how the STeed is coming along.
Happy fathers day
Ruben
:runyay leave pass granted at 4:30am.
Ride safe and see you there.
Thanks for another great OzSTOC RTE! In spite of the heat, it was still a fun ride and a good lunch with some great people. Fiona came along for her first RTE and thoroughly enjoyed it. As a new pillion rider she had her nervous moments but all in all, had a blast. She extends her thanks to everyone one who gave her tips on riding pillion and how to overcome her nervousness. She can't get over how nice and friendly everyone was. She's now looking forward to her next RTE.
As Fiona was still unsure about this bike thing, she has been using my gear to ride in until she decides whether its a goer or not. She is now keen to start shopping for her own gear. Thanks guys! You've made my life just that much easier. :runyay
Cheers! :beer
