Title: Loud horn

Hi Fellas
I am looking for a very loud horn. The horn on my ST goes "toot toot, I'm gunna slap you,you naughty boy" I want one that goes "BLAST, I'm gunna kick ya f345ing head in you dumb moron"
Any suggestions? K eep in mind that the under seat space is already taken up with cruise contol components.
You may have guessed, but ive had a few run ins with brain dead car drivers this week.....

If this is for an 1100 ABS, the Stebel will need to be split - compressor/trumpet because of space issues.

Uncle Phil at the US STOC site has documented this process. I think you will need to sign up, if you haven't already, to access the pdf files.

I couldn't see these on OZSTOC, but I guess it wouldn't be a bad thing, if Uncle Phil will allow?

I recommend installing a loud PA type of horn and use a machine gun sound effect... definitely wont be ignored then! :)

Laurie, I have twin Stebel horns on mine. $ 45.00 on eBay. Fitted one to my original spot and one on the left. Blows the plastic off :blk13

I have a pair of FIAM horns, replacements came from Auto pro or the like for about $30 when one of the old ones vibrated loose  :-[

They are LOUD and even manage to get over the exhaust "note"  :crackup

Laurie, I have '98 Non ABS St1100 and have installed Stebel - no need to split - got mine from AMC on Sunshine Coast around $49 from memory. A place @ Brendale also has them.
If you can purchase and/or wait till I'm home, about Thursday(9th May), I will drop down & show you how I mounted mine - you will be amazed .... has caused MMEEEE no problem but "jam tin drivers" ..... whhhoooooooohhooooo and all at 139db

Stebel Horn is not bad, but as stated on the ABS model you have to split it:

But I have had three of them fail on different bikes and I like the ones I have installed at the moment.

They're loud, easy to install and get the attention of anybody within 50 metres, inside or outside of a vehicle.

Sorry you had trouble with the Stebels Tack.  I've had them on three bikes without a failure. 
But I don't use them much- try to keep away from those driving on drugs, or with their earphones in (that should be illegal) or asleep at the wheel, or in deep and meaningful convos with their passenger, or sorting bickering children, or wearing a hat in a Volvo.  Darn, that doesn't leave a lot, does it?
