Hi guys. Thanks for accepting me into your group.
I'm a 61y/o male living in Horsley, between Wollongong and Shellharbour. I am a retired and burnt out paramedic/SES worker. I thought I'd rejuvenate the juices by getting back into bikes after a long absence. So 2 days ago, I went and bought a 2008 ST1300ABS. I've hardly been off the saddle since. Love it.
I am looking forward to joining one of your rides and meeting some of you. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be too many members in the Illawarra. Just moved to the area and was looking to link up with some local rides as well.
As for my handle...A2Z, if you saw my full name, you'd understand. I'm a wog with a name as long as my arm.
Catch you on the road.
A2Z

G'day AZZ and welcome to OzSToc , have a look through the website in members it'll give you an idea of where the other members are in your area. Even if they are a hour or so away I'm sure a mutual meeting point can be arranged as you have the bike to do it on .... It's a very comfortable mile muncha mate.
Anyhoo visit here and post often..... Cheers Brian

Hi A2Z and welcome to OzSTOC from the SA crew. I too have a red 2008 ST1300 and find it to be a fantastic tourer, and in fact I'm leaving Adelaide, bound for Canberra tomorrow, and will return via the GOR (again). We have a few other paramedics in OzSTOC. Just ignore the PINKY bit :grin 'cause I'm the butt of a campaign by the moderators, until they get tired of the game. :nahnah

G'day A2Z,
Good name m8. Am also in the Illawarra and don't know why the above "buddies" didn't tell u so. I always say that I'm from the Gong rather than the Illawarra so that's probably what confused the lads. :butt
I am also relatively new to the club and can recommend the guys who I have met or exchanged posts with to b friendly and helpful. Abe, Rubencan and Saaz are not that far away and are very keen riders.
Glad to have another member on my doorstep. My dragon is a red 1300 that grew from a baby dragon in 2003. It really does breathe fire from its Two Brothers pipes. :hatwave I'm sure Wyvern will show your youngster the ropes until he is run in at 80,000 km. :thumb
Anyway, welcome to the forum and will see you on an Ride To Eat (RTE) soon or PM me 2 meet and ride.

G'day A2Z, welcome to the forum :hatwave

Welcome A2Z, good to see another red 08.

Welcome A2Z! I (and a few others) are always up for a ride, especially since I can do it mid week. Somewhere like Kangaroo Valley is much better during the week, as is the Robertson pieshop and lots of other nice areas. If you have some recommended places around your way or inland a bit, let me know.
I will be down in Kiama for two nights this week (Tuesday and Wednesday, but in the car with the wife) so will be having a look around the area. Always time to meet up somewhere.
-
G'day mate also a newbie you will find this a great site
