Title: Far Rider Down (Brookster)
Post by: Streak on June 03, 2013, 08:43:09 PM
Just a Note that Brookster (one of the Far Riders) got rear ended by a bus in Brisbane today, to quote his words:

Quote
"Did not even make it across Brisbane and my trip is cactus......got hit from behind by a friggin bus that drifted from the centre lane to the left lane....I am sore but i think OK...bike is a mess...."

he is ok, a couple of minor dents to him, and stiff and sore, bike looks to be a write off by the sound of it.

One of my biggest fears being rear ended. Hope he is ok. Bike is always replaceable.

Its a Bl876y bugger aright. Still he's up and posting thankfully.

Poor old S10 didn't get to be 100,000...damn shame that.

FarRider family will pull together if needed as riders all over do.

Bad news.  Can happen to the best of us.

Brookester's still in fine form, so he can't be hurt too bad.  He's been giving me sh*t all evening!  He really appreciates all the concern shown by his motorcycling family though.

To quote Brookester:

"This one post shows the true spirit of friendships and of the motrocycling fraternity....THANK YOU to one and all.....I have a small puncture wound in the back of my right knee and undoubtedly will have a fair bit of stiffness and bruising over the next few days, but will wait to see what the Dr says, got a good one here in Brissie....as for the bike we shall wait, but pretty much me thinks it will be a write off...and it would have clocked up the magical 100,000km's on this weekends FarRide :-(......phone has not stopped and I am truely moved by all the support....Cheers :-)"

Its good to hear that the accident wasn't too serious and he will recover fairly quickly.
Ive seen a few accidents involving buses and a lot of the time the other vehicle/person isn't so lucky :eek

Anyway please pass on my best to Brookster :hatwave

Cheers

Brookester.   Glad you're relatively OK.   Riding in traffic is my greatest worry, as we are at the mercy of other drivers, but when on the highway, I'm pretty well in charge of my own destiny.

On that same note my son's unattended VFR750 got knocked down in a car park the other day.  He's put so much effort into the restoration, and with fairing damage all along one side, it'll probably get written off by the insurance assessment as the dollar value of the older bike won't be very high.
